Btw, on the paizo messageboard, there are playtests by someone named Colette Brunel which are a lot of fun to read. Link here. Colette is DMing as a psychorigid DM who play every rule as it is written - and i think she's right since it's a playtest, not a "can you houserule this game enough to ...

Cheers, Gat. p178, missed that. But nah, that -10 is great once you can hit with it, and the Bard cantrip is better. The bard cantrip takes one action and gives it to another character. At best, it's a "meh OK" ability. There are time where character B may make a better usage of his actio...

Multiple attack penalty -5 stacks every time you make a Strike action. Quick gives you an extra Strike action. So being quick gives you a -15 attack, if you use all four actions to make four Strikes. The multiattack penalty cap at -10; a hasted fighter attacks at 0, -5, -10, -10. (Haste is 1 target...

When they say "impossible" do they mean "actually cannot be done" or "one of the highest difficulties"? Because many games have "impossible" difficulties that are do-able. Both meanings are idiotic in this case, I'm just wondering which type of idiot they are...

The prices of magic armors on page 397 seems to be random, for some reason it's not the price of an armor of that quality + price of rune + price of etching the rune on the armor. I can't access the document at work, but are the prices actually RANDOM or are they strictly lower for pre-etched armor...

No one understand how shield block works. Not even the designers. You have to go though the whole book to understand how counterspell (a fucking level 1 feat) works, and at that point you discover it doesn't work. Paladins are designed to be unplayable. Encumbrance seems to be abstracted and simpli...

The key word here is "slay". The paladin can't slay Palpatine, but there's plenty of other ways to oppose the evil empire. No. The keyword is "legitimate authorities". You must respect the lawful authority of the legitimate ruler or leadership in whichever land you may be, follo...

Paladins have access to several oath at level 2. eg an oath to slay undeads or an oath to slay evil dragons. You’ve sworn an oath to end the plague of undead. Add the following tenet to your paladin’s code after the other tenets: “You must end the existence of undead you come across as long as you h...

"Checks seem really swingy and specialists kinda suck at their jobs" seem to be recurring themes in feedback so far. I don't know how they thought that level-based DC chart was a good idea. There are inklings of the idea that most tasks shouldn't have higher level equivalents, but instead...

Take 15 is a whole different ballgame, as it amounts to a +4 bonus, which as we've mentioned in this system of critical successes based on check result is a really fucking big deal. Take 20 and Take 30 are simply off the RNG altogether, raising the question of why you're going to all this trouble t...

The book looks like an IKEA set with no manual : lot and lot of elements, but no clear view about how they go together. Complete with some pieces that don't fit with any other piece. Example : counterspell. There's a level 1 wizard feat to counterspell (p 139). It's a reaction, with trigger "a ...

http://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo5lkyi?Running-the-Game We're doing this again, apparently. Fuck everything. A level 1 "extreme" challenge has a DC of 18. This means a level 1 untrained character with average ability may succeed at anything "extreme". Fuck that shit. A le...

Real spells take 2-3 actions, while shit ones take 1 action so you can also move and hit something. There's a preview of Kyra (the cleric) on ENworld . So Bless takes 2 actions. For a +1 to hit in an area. If there is a "aid another" action, it's probably more efficient than Bless . Hence...

I'm gunna take a moment to be offended that they use "irreligious" as the word for creatures that are repelled by holy symbols. Redcaps are afraid by holy symbol, but only if you use an interact action to brandish it. If you brandish your holy symbol to channel energy or to cast a spell, ...

I was expecting a lot of these feats to be crap, as many of the PF1 feats are, but "+1 to a single attack roll on a critical success" is even more amazingly crap than I was expecting. You shouldn't expect anything about Pathfinder. Paizo seems to be in limbo mode, going lower every preview.

Oh, and rangers have a feat to gain +1 on one unique attack roll (the opponent is immune after the first attack) if he roll a critical success on his lore check to identify the monster. And the timing for this feat is strange : you have to set the monster as you prey beforehand. Making it your prey ...

So Rangers have even better dual wielding than any others: they lower additional attacks vs their hunt target by 1 (stacks with agile). From what i've heard, the specificity of dual wielding is to ignore the multi-attack penalty on the second attack (... in other words, for two action you make two ...

You're right.

I guess potion of invisibility don't exist anymore - they announced somewhere they don't want potion to be simple spell, and i can't see a single reason for the vanishing coin to exist if you can drink a potion instead.

New preview! Magic items! I guess potions don't exist anymore, but don't panic! There is still a consumable allowing a rogue to benefit from invisibility . The consumable is level 9, this means it can't be craft before level 9. If I remember correctly the preview about crafting, crafting it requires...
