Here is one of the most hilarious videos out there, it's someone explaining homeopathy with "science". She's an optometrist. Here are some quotes from the transcript. "And have all of you heard of Einstein? Well, you know that light is energy, right? And he gave us the theory that ene...

Speaking of Pathfinder, they're publishing a strategy guide. I can't wait to see how badly they understand their own game.

I need to stat an aquatic eidolon for a level 6 NPC summoner. I need 3 tentacle attacks and one bite. It can have a couple pieces of gear and will likely receive a buff spell or 2 before going into combat. Here's the picture I'm using: http://i1.minus.com/iocdYjySb04Ks.jpg Thoughts? Suggestions? What would be the pitfalls of designing the PCs first, then using other PCs as your "challenges", and then form your monsters from that? Figure out the scale of your level improvements -- i.e., what are the proportional differences between each level (and across the span of several levels...

I think the typos add that extra layer of authenticity to your impression of Mearls half-assing things.

I suspect you have PL on ignore as he's, well, a frothing lunatic, but a stopped clock is right twice a day. (Unlike shadzar, who is better represented as a clock face with no hands for that metaphor.) No, Shadzar would want to be a sundial, and would give you an incoherent rant (incoherant?) about...

The new issue over at the PF forums: Temp bonuses/penalties are permanent if they last 24 hours till then they follow their own rules. So RoE lowers Str bonus but not carrying capacity (unlike in 3.5). Meaning Dual wielders prefer Bull's Str over the guantlets/belt of Str. Why? Because Temp bonuses...

I appreciate that the line is blurry, but it's hard to have sympathy for the lich-phobes when even the SRD Fire Giant requires at least 15 different function calls for non-term things like specific skills, feats, special rules like low-light vision and vulnerability, giant type rules, etc. Adding a...

Oh, I'd think it's more advanced than that, it will at least reach gigaflops, maybe even teraflops, or if we're really "lucky" petaflops!

Well as far as I can find, I no longer have the Monsters of Faerun book, and do not wish to pirate it, so I cannot do the review. That said, it's not a pile of awfulness like some of these. It has a whole bunch of shit about which you do not care, as all monster books do, and it has MOAR DRAGONZ, o...

Mearls' Inspiration system is dumb. Mechanically, we're looking at a fairly simply system that we're calling inspiration. When you have your character do something that reflects your character's personality, goals, or beliefs, the DM can reward you with inspiration. The key lies in describing your ...

Can I request Monsters of Faerun? It was quite obviously written by people who failed to understand how 3rd Edition worked. It's full of horrifically CRed monsters and random humanoids lacking any interesting abilities.

True, but I think every member of the Den needs to get it out of their system at least once. It's a sort of initiation. I was also curious because there is a difference between someone with a different (insane) point of view that they believe strongly and can rationally argue for and someone who jus...

he is a day-care center worker trying to please everyone. he needs to get laid. The way you phrased this sounds like you wand Mearls to be a pedophile. Also, it sounds like you just want more 2e sourcebooks. However, the reason they're trying for the Grand Unified Edition is that no one segment of ...

I don't actually mind the Legendary Resistance that much. Although having it kick in by choice rather than automatically creates shenanigans. I mean, what you're doing is making a monster that isn't going to be chump slapped by a SoD on turn one, and giving it some get-out-of-Finger of Death Free c...
