Now to the actual opposition: The Labour party are trying very hard to stick to the "Sit down, shut up" strategy. I'm just going to note this strategy is not the strategy Tony Abbot used to gain power at a federal level. And that for labor, in federal politics this strategy, or the "...

Your information is a year out of date. At the moment we'd have another hung parliment if the election was held today, but the LNP is on a downward slide. http://blogs.crikey.com.au/pollbludger/bludgertrack-breakdowns-june-2014 The winning formula for opposition parties in Australia for the last 3 c...

My personal theory is that K2 was rather jealous of Bismark's prestige and was trying to make his own mark by contradicting Bismark. Russia's collapsing prestige following the 1905 loss to Japan helped his reasoning. I don't believe he could have kept the alliance with Russia and a relationship with...

I'm enjoying worlds. It was good seeing TSM finally being able to take it to a Chinese team. And then SK happened. But anyway. AHQ vs Edward was pretty exciting, too. Perhaps what we've learnt so far is that the Chinese teams are pretty brittle. Assuming Samsung White is the best in the world, then ...

Ok, so the guys who totally screwed the pooch on MWO (PGI) are now asking you to send them money for a space game: https://transversegame.com/about/funding It looks terribad and they should feel bad. As you can tell, after 2 days they have 60 backers, in for around $6K. When they hit $1M, they're go...

Getting that auto-attack off after the headbutt I found difficult, but it doesn't matter anymore, it's been removed.

I went a whole game without getting a single one off last week.

Getting a pentakill from behind in League of Legends. That, and winning from-behind teamfights with wombo combos. Snowballing is so common that it feels particularly badass to beat a team with a huge lead by having everything come together. Getting a penta or winning a teamfight from ahead happens ...

Ran it for my group some time ago. Social combat certainly devolved to "this one works, this one doesn't" and we didn't go for long enough for the more interesting powers to come into effect.

And our PM spoke angry words... not actually to Putin, because he's terrified of Putin ... I assume most of the Western world has this shit going on in their papers? The Australian political situation might be more unique, Abbott has jumped on it because his polling numbers are now so low and local...

Into this, I've seen a number of articles talking about a removed post from the rebels claiming to have shot down a military aircraft at the same time in the same place. Is this propaganda, or did it actually happen? It doesn't matter either way, since no one is claiming to have found a post from a...

This is quite interesting No, it's not. It's a bunch of Russians blaming Ukrainians. Some of it is already discredited (It could have been an SU25!) Some of it is conspiracy (But why did they have AA assets!??) It offers nothing new or noteworthy. Actually I lie, the noteworthy part is that they of...

I'd compare Yomi to something more like SmashUp, which I can buy a 4 player box for $20. That's half the price. True, and as I keep repeating here, that sort of thing is a probably a better value for the casual player. A brand new player can be playing Smash Up in five minutes and seeing most of th...

Meh...it's $10 a deck, and they're all competitive . Magic: The Gathering sells non-competitive pre-built decks for $7-40+ with a massively superior economy of scale. A single competitive deck goes for $200-1000+ . CCGs are very different cost models in that you can buy singles and take decks apart...

I prefer that more fairytalesque goblin to the GW-ified greenskinned tinkerer or maniac that populates pathfinder or a dozen other games.

They've both closed down (AFAICT), but Pichet Ong is a real chef, who still operates a business. But that the business has closed down doesn't stop it being started again and it doesn't protect you from frivolous lawsuits.

I'm loving the chapter, but in the New York section I'm a little queasy about having _actual_ businesses and people named. I'd imagine some of them would become a little uptight about being described in conjunction with various denizens of the night. Even if the the actual description is complementa...

In terms of the tv, I have a steam box hooked up to my tv, so that's a possibility for some I guess.

Just because I've spent too many years studying ancient languages to let it past: christos means anointed in classic greek. And I believe Jesus comes from the Hebrew Yehoshua, but my Hebrew is minimal.

As long as there's no instagib, it's hilarious. I did have an ashe/ziggs lane destroy me last night, though.
