i see an answer right now: brass knuckles. have them deal 1d8 per fist, be enchantable like weapons, and count as being unarmed for monk powers.

what's REALLY funny is that it has been shown that there is no default assumtion with bonus feats RIGHT THERE IN THE THREAD. the monk says it works one way, the fighter says it works the other, the rouge is silent.

I'll pick "Insane," because it takes out some (under-used) character concepts : Gnome inventor, mad alchemist, forge master that makes kewl swords, etc. no, it isn't impossible to have those, they just live in the few and far between fortresses, and no one can drag their wares out to the ...

Actually, if i understand points of light correctly, the source of the items must be from monster civilizations, because humanity doesn't seem coherent enough for mass producing magic items, unless they reduced the time it takes. this, naturally, makes very little sense when combined with the omnipo...

The main purpose of the alignment descriptors is to change your Caster Level when you cast them.

you'd need devils in at least two squares to do this. maybe shrink a ton of them down to support a nigh-unstoppable leading line

wait, i don't get why taking a site would require the attuned guy's presence. doesn't that mean that if the owner runs off to another plane of existance, you'd have to follow him and hope he isn't safer there than you are? what if a gold dragon runs off to the elemental plane of fire while a site is...

all of them? i can only recall aragorn, gandalf, and maybe legolas. the rest had magic items, if that.

i like it when artifacts have powers no normal magic item has. it's also fine if they have absurd numbers of diffrent types of effects.

No, i think that if you take the salamander volcano, you have to shut it down or use it as is. you could use it to give your light warriors fire bonuses, though. EDIT: here's another idea i have. there will be a "spirit of the site" which is an intelligent monster who obeys the command of ...

Re: Setting: Temples, Sites, Ruins, and Empires

I think that if the sun emperor can crush the fire lord and seize the fire carverns, he could take control of them and use them to create fire giants, but not transform them to make emperor's guard. also, i think that minor sites should be formed by temples and suchlike, but if you want to summon fo...

Re: Dragonmech review/info

the steam powers are pretty weak until you link 5 or so together, and get the autofire 180 ft. range 2d8 lighting catapult with target descrimintation. individual steam powers are meant to be weak. All the city mechs are suicide to attack with anything short of Viper Fang or City Killer. Nedderpick ...

Re: The Feeling of Epic

How do the wizards even kill gods of magic? hit them with their quarterstaffs? On the loviatar point: you did this mainly with various forms of divine magic, right? Why didn't Loviatar kill Ilmater directly? Did you outpower your own deity that much?

Re: The Feeling of Epic

Actually, my point was that that's not how i think of them in DND. i don't really know what sorce material you're talking about. in the myths i've seen, only deities do that, and not very often. it also gets extra stupid when clerics kill deities or wizards kill gods of magic. that stuff in particul...

Re: The Feeling of Epic

on the kobolds thing: it is not the 1st level warriors who make the kobolds interesting, it's the low-level PC classes some of them have. sure, you mostly ignore that when you're low-level, because facing down a cadre of kobold sorcerers is not easy at 1st-3rd level. but don't complain that kobolds ...
