That was exactly the sort of advice I was looking for, thanks.[br][br][br]Some questions:[br][br]You suggested getting a Control Rig. Is that useful, given that you'll be wanting a swarm of Sprite-controlled drones which may well be more powerful than you are?[br][br]By sensory upgrades, do you mean...

...a Technomancer Rigger. [br][br]This sounds like an interesting character. I was thinking that technomancers were basically crap, but this could be very effective. You're basically an unarmed civilian with no cyberware or other restricted gear, who happens to have a bunch of robots as body guards...

Re: How do you be a White Hat in Shadowrun?

Stage a coup, set up a 'temporary' military dictatorship, and contract your infrastructure to a Company. You'll be hailed as a hero, and things will just fall into place. Freedom, here we come!

Re: Stronghold Builder's Guidebook--a second opinion

Is it the fact that the game designers were worried that if strongholds were cheap-as-free players might be trying to weasel power they shouldn't have out of it? Is it because they want strongholds to be strictly an NPC thing? Simple sadism? Throw me a fri...

OK, so the descriptions are logically inconsistant, and there was probably either very little proof-reading or absolutely no toe-stepping in the writing of the book.[br][br]Still, having read the thread it sounds like most of the posters thought your questions were regarding how to run a game rather...

Re: Does Caster > Fighter in Other systems?

One idea I like was almost used with the D&D Wu Jen, but without the appropriate balancing mechanics: Using magic involves being able to break the normal rules, but it also involves not breaking a set of abnormal rules.[br][br]Then some smart game designer goes and says that wizards can't drive,...

Re: Does Caster > Fighter in Other systems?

In d20 Modern, technology tends to kick magic in the face. Unfortunately for balance, you can have both.

Of course, 'fighters' still tend to not be as good as spellcasters with awesome fighting abilities or technosavants with awesome fighting abilities.

Re: The Rebalanced Paladin!

I do like that you improved the paladin's caster level. At least they're up to normal with one Karma bead. Not that the spellcasting is that great, but some of the spells are good enough to matter.[br][br]How about building the abilities of the Holy Avenger sword into the class? This includes area S...

Re: Getting butfvcked by Planescape(no vaseline)

Torment was the first D&D game to implement instantanious Con-based HP changes, right? The item slot system was pretty standard for a CRPG, but an improvement on AD&D's. The tatoos were a very nice touch.[br]But it also had that wonky dual-class system for The Nameless One, which was a mista...
