That could be workable, and certainly sounds like something that someone should make when it becomes necessary because they're about to play such a game. Until then, kind of pointless. Do you mean that sometimes a certain homebrew class can be good for the exceptional circumstances in one particula...

It really is. My biggest gripe with warlock is that it's too limited. It should probably start with two inv.s, plus EB, and gain one every level or too. Give it a shot, you're damn good at homebrewing stuff. Crypts of chaos is inspirational to read, I'd love to see your design notes for running it....

Yeah, more dimension hopping would have been cool. Still, there were some interesting ideas here. They were more than just, "the Thing is Evil here" which I found pretty neat. Pity about the sloppy editing and continuity errors. This was actually my first experience with a gamebook, and no...

Restrict play to levels 1-5. If a player hits level 6, they are back to level 1 but in a higher tier. They now always succeed at anything against a lower tier opponent without needing to roll, but have to repick their abilities (their old abilities are useless against people in their current tier), ...

I had a lot of fun with the Crypts of Chaos. Good group of players, had a lot of fun. It's a great read. I peeked at the recruitment thread as I wanted to see the character sheets and prematurely found out who's going to die. I'm really enjoying reading through both nonetheless. Prak: Refluffed war...

Best Games You've Ever Played/Heard About

I'm still pretty new to TRPGs and the only games I've played were the (very few and not very long lasting so far) ones I've run, which I still need to work on improving. So on account of not having anything of my own, I'll just link Old Man Henderson and Tarrasque with Wizard Levels . So anyway, sha...

I'm pretty happy with Pathfinder's approach to this. You can take ranks in anything, but you get a +3 to class skills. You can alter the +3 to something else (possibly make it scale with level of the class the skill is a class skill of, so you get a smaller bonus in say, UMD if you have only one lev...

Holy shit. I want IRON MAN NAO! Here's an Iron Man class from GITP . Interestingly, the guy who made it chose the same artwork Prak did. I'd completely forgotten I made this thread. Has a Hulk class, and Iron Man's suit, Captain America's shield, and Mjolnir These are amazing, but what level should...

Thanks for the book recommendations fbmf. I'll check them out soon. The rest of us laughed at him and pointed out that DnD is about fantasy, not superheroes. This bothers me in the sense that it's inaccurate, as mid-high level PC's have more to do with Superheroes than anything else. 6th-10th is rea...

Is resurrection possible and easy? If yes, I have no qualms about this. As long as I get to play someone or something else in the meantime, even if it's weaker than my old character as long as I can still participate significantly. While PC death has it's problems, especially in that many games are ...

These are awesome. Especially like your changing nicknames, clericbarian, barbaromancer, etc. Also the brick joke cat thingy was utterly hilarious. Please, keep going to terrible games for out amusement.

find 2e books on drow and convert the spells to 3.?, then you will have more powerful spider themed spells. i am sure plenty was converted already though in the past 13 years. Not too familiar with 2e. Any recommendations? I think there was an old thread where Ancient History recommended Encycloped...

Okay, wow a ton of great options. Most of these are much more spider/aranea themed than Spider-man himself, which is awesome, but I'm looking for something that's more like the old Webhead. For all I know my friend might want to play one of those instead (I'll show him all the linked classes here), ...

@RadiantPhoenix: Hmm, you posted while I was posting and I didn't notice it earlier, sorry. Ah, the every class should be able to do x thread, thanks for reminding me about it and breaking it down like that. Actually, yeah, the Tome monk seems to fit very well, but I'd still like some web related abilities, spider-climb active at all times, web swinging, long range web grappling, etc. Perhaps a few slight modifications to the Tome monk (e.g. changing the shoot fire out of hands to shoot impact webs inst...

[3.X] Requesting Spider-man build or class

One of my players wanted to play a Spider-manish character a while back. The rest of us laughed at him and pointed out that DnD is about fantasy, not superheroes. But conisdering you guys have done Sandman , Jean Grey , Storm (something another player wanted, but I didn't know how to implement at th...

Someone on the GitP forums converted all core spells and classes to use the psionics system. I'm pretty new to 3.anything so I can't comment on the quality though.
