Silva, come here

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1503538195/aspects-of-fantasy-a-d20-fate-fantasy-roleplaying FATE + d20. I'm trying to think in a smart, fun and obvious pun about this "merge", but it is already at "fail zone"; both on KS as on design ideas. Or i am wrong? [Other people can c...

It's probable that they could do like Final Fantasy and Bravely Default: recreate the basics on a new system, only the name changed. And a Lying Airy on the title.

I disagree. There is actually kind of a lot of D&D source material where beggars successfully get people to hand over all their armor, weapons, and magical doodads. From Xena to the Arabian Nights, it's kind of a genre staple. Real beggars blessed with luck on their rolls or some master of true...

What "I can tell" from this thread is that a lot of people around here have a problem with rules-light games. This wouldnt be a problem by itself, if not by the fact that such people go further and try to justify their tastes by actually arguing rules-light system are somehow broken beyon...

Its the exact opposite of a railroad.

MTP = game withou rules, or a certain session of a game whose rules don't mater.

RPG = actual roleplaying game where you use rules to achieve something.

So your opinion on the matter is informed by another guy opinion on the matter ? Have you actually read the book or a review ? Do you at least have a slight suspect about how the game actually works ? Of course i have, let me read the book herZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ But then its a factor of the players play...

I never said i didn't know how to play, as World games play as "roll and say something that the GM might consider depending on his mood", and FATE... that i really don't care how they run. So you dont really know these games, as I suspected. This is the best explanation i can give you abo...

When the answer to a rules question is "whenever the DM feels like", you need to burn a lot of page space to reach the level of a reusable rule and not make it seem like your character has no power at all. How broad of a scope can an aspect cover? How often can a player use it? How good c...

No, Atmo. I disagreed with K. Almost there, tsc! K 's position: "Games like Fate are conductive to railroads". Silva 's position: "Games like Fate are conductive to sandboxes/player-driven gameplay". Those two positions look very biased on personal experiences. I'm talking from ...

The real problem with games like AW or FATE is that they railroad individual actions. When the DM can declared by fiat that an action has literally any consequence, the freedom of the player is nil. On the contrary. Games like Fate or AW share the fiction authorship around the group, allowing playe...

One of the things they have is "put Charisma bonus on AC" at the first level.
