I mean you'd have to adjust a bunch of other values probably. The biggest thing is that even if two guys of the same level hit/block each other the same rate, I (as a player) want to be assured that I'm actually gaining levels by being able to hit lower level things more often over time. So, there n...

https://gist.github.com/Lokathor/5ba4eea5181b95fe2ca8aef47c179412 I've done a first pass at a complete replacement to the Magic chapter for After Sundown. There are a few clean ups in the top matter, but most of the powers are the same as before, just put into a new format that gives a much more uni...

No direct hacking of cyberlimbs. That just is asking for too much trouble. If you wanted to have an alternate version of Seize that has the same effect (total incantation), but the fluff is that you're making their cyberware go haywire and that's what's causing them to lose their turns as they fight...

Problem (maybe): Due to the way that Resistance Tests work, it's impossible to activate a power and end up with exactly zero net hits. For most powers at least. Unlike with skill checks and attacks, the resistance test doesn't set the threshold, it reduces the hits, and then the threshold is almost ...

The group I've been playing 5e with lately managed to introduce themselves to the game. They normally play card games, they were in the games shop, and they saw the starter set for 5e so they just got it on a whim and played a campaign and figured it out with using the online character maker and stu...

[*] A Connection does not require LOS. If you want to have it in your Network it must be in Handshake range of your network. If it's a Directional Retransmitter and you want to use is to draw LOS from, you need to have LOS to it. [*] When a retransmitter is in your network they detect it or not depe...

Having played 5e recently with folks who are totally new to the concept of DnD, it seems like the biggest crime of 5e is that it's complex enough that you can't quite play it as a drunk game with no prep, but you also can't play it as a game that has satisfying mechanics among the complex games wher...

I like this, but I still don't get why this is a feat . This sounds like it should just be a rule that the entire play group uses or not. If you're non-proficient you roll 1d20 flat, if you are proficient you roll 1d20+FastChart for attacks, and SlowChart for Saves/Skills/Whatever. Pick whatever you...

The ghost thing is easy. It can just be a passive thing, but since it's not tiered and it's not a number you have to remember to add, should be fine. Necromancy Necromancy powers are the powers to interact with the dead. Yada yada yada. As a special rule: If you know any Necromancy power at all you ...

Short Answer: You don't need all the levels. LotR is like a 5th level adventure. It's a really long 5th level adventure, where maybe people don't level up at a pace you might expect from the normal game, but it's still a cool story that people love to hear about. Things past level 10 are kinda goofy...
