Yeah, The Room kinda takes the low bar for bad dialogue, and buries it about a mile below sea level. I say it again: dialogue is hard . I'll add to that editing is hard . And if your editor isn't any better at dialogue than you are, even edited dialogue can suck sweaty donkey balls. This is how dial...

I think most people are just that bad at writing dialogue. Dialogue is hard and most people just don't put much effort in.
That said, this is a particularly poor example, yes.

Say it with me, friends: fragile things do not go inside of bodies. Light bulbs are a particularly poor choice, what with the whole 'could shatter, filling your rectum with glass shards' thing. Use things that are designed to be sex toys - it's just a better plan. As for your immediate issue, yes, g...

X-Wing pretends that space is a flat plane, as does Armada. That said, Axis and Allies: Angels 20 is a tactical dogfighting game that DOES have altitude involved in reasonably sane manner. Unfortunately, it's a very specific game (fighter combat in WWII), and I can't see those rules being very broad...

Okay, this second shot at the Kickstarter has me so much more for it than the first go. -One box for all the stuff? Sold. -minis as a separate box, thus keeping costs down? Fucking love it. -Stretchgoals that are broadly applicable, rather than gradually adding minis to expansions? Superb. Great wor...

And then it was just as quickly made un-live. Looks like they're adjusting it and will try again next week. Awkward.

Practically every Final Fantasy game I've ever played has made me wish I could have a game that revolved entirely around just having an awesome airship, flying around the world exploring and finding stuff to upgrade and customize it. And also that I could actually have a galleon with jet turbines a...

I don't know that ANYONE understands why Invisibility is distinct from Chameleon. Or what the hell the point is. But yeah, Chameleon is the way to do anything.

Gotta love what happens when you try to roll back past the beginning of the Epoch (hint: "bricks" and "your phone" are involved).

Star Force was okay but not great (speaking for the first game only, never bothered with the rest). They sacrificed WAY too much to let them do 3D graphics, and it shows. Also, the world is even more bonkers. I'd say to just enjoy the BN games. They are a fucking treasure, and I love them, and I hat...

Oh, Impossible (sorry, *Legendary*) in XCOM2's greatest difficulty is legit the FIRST GODDAMN MISSION. Why? On Legendary, the xenos get a bonus pod that includes a Sectoid (with, yes, the Insanity power), and all three of the enemy pods KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, even when concealed. They path straight tow...

Sounds awesome! Darkest Night has intrigued me for a while now (wallet has been thin, though), so a Kickstarted second edition sounds like a great opportunity to get into it. Let us know when it starts, will you?

There's plenty of streamlining to like in the new XCOM games, but some of it is truly rage-inducing. The difference is between streamlining that improves convenience and game play, and "streamlining" that exists solely to avoid anything that would be remotely hard to program or game desig...

Eikre: thanks for the heads-up, I was not aware of that. Right then, ASUS or MSI. I personally like ASUS boards, as I've used a bunch and never had trouble with them (I have had them die on me, but always after years of service, so I'm not terribly fussed about it).

Ye gods, I'm tired of listening to Bradford. Also incredibly tired of only having one Skyranger which can only carry 4-6 troops at a time. Also tired of only being able to send one of my grand fleet of 3 interceptors to fight the aliens. Seriously, why not send the whole squadron? Why is the max siz...

okay, I just looked up that model, and that's weird as fuck. That said...use the LAN connection on the motherboard, not the expansion card. Buy an external USB sound card (Creative makes a couple good ones). Or a name brand internal card. But this whole 'sound/NIC combo card' is just madness. And ne...

Long War added some really good tweaks: 1: better class progressions (more skills to pick from, more of them are good) 2: the ability to shut out the aliens in the air (if you're good/lucky enough, you can shoot down all the UFOs, instead of there being completely un-interceptable bogeys) 3: more we...

My partner's parents did that gig. Her experience was thus: If the social workers care, they try really hard. That said, they are super under-funded, and have very limited pools of volunteers. Basically, DSS is begging for assistance, and not getting it. If they don't care, however, things can get u...
