No, because I find the term SJW to be a way to shut down discussion. I also do find most of the people to be nice and I had no real reason to expect this. I live in the SF Bay Area, there are a lot of places that are LGBT-friendly without being assholes about it.

So, I just moved into LGBT-themed communal housing situation. I'm asexual, but I don't generally associate myself with the LGBT community. The house doesn't require residents to be LGBT, but most are, and everyone must be accepting and supportive. I thought living there could be an interesting way t...

Also, the gnomes can see in UV? What is actually generating UV down underground though? One of the most infuriating things about Gygax's Drow is the big rant about how they can see super well underground because they can see into the Ultraviolet. It's very very weird. Also dumb. -Username17 I'm gue...

I just saw Hamilton. It lives up to the hype.

Damn that was a solid work!

I preferred the touring cast to the original one.

Sorry, I meant in-character moral greyness. If you can actually go see the Wyrm thrashing around, it's hard to argue smashing shit and wrecking face doesn't bolster it, but if no one's really sure the triat exists, it's a little more gray whether killing Wyrm-cultists hinders or helps the Wyrm. The...

I have an IQ of 170, tested in high school. No, you don't. The tests can't reliably measure past about 140, which is about what Stephen Hawkings is. First, IQ is not standardized. Some tests have a standard deviation every 15 points, some have it every 20. Also, they adjust test results based on th...

The general chance of going with no repeats is: (X-1) * (X-2) * (X-3) ... * (X-{Y-1}) / (X^{Y-1}) So for example, if you wanted the chance of no repeats with X = 100 and Y = 10 you'd do: 99*98*97*96*95*94*93*92*91/(100^9) Which is a 63% chance of no repeats or a 37% chance of at least one repeat. F...

. I mean, a feat to return caster levels lost to Prestige Classes was in a book of dumb "Prestige Classes" that are pretty much just archetypes (altered main ability + different fiddlybits describes at least 1/2 to 2/3 of them) and would still be dumb then. But I man can still dream. Wait...

So, Paizo just released my favorite bit of errata (or FAQ or whatever they call it). The trait Improvisational Equipment had a single sentence added to the end. Benefit: When using an item for anything other than its intended purpose—such as using a crowbar as a grappling hook or an old shirt to ban...

Dogbert, keep advocating for player agency. Seriously, every game design decision that is Gygaxian tends to be the most boring & tedious of all possible options. When I referee, I always encourage my players in their Klugian decisions that allow me to referee non-Gygaxian games. Way to miss the...

Which I can certainly understand at this point. In reading his general-internet tone he seems to be a default-nice person w...

Be careful with the Lobster. You know, for all that I usually disagree with Phonelobster and find him frustrating to argue with, in this case he's entirely in the right. It is a pretty big problem if your game claims to be based on another system while changing every aspect of that system. There is...

Starting to see why Gygax had the saves split on method of delivery rather than method of defence. Less offensive to people's imaginations if you're not telling them how they avoided the fireball, just that there was a spell and it gave you a save vs spells. Save vs aimed (Dex), vs contact (Con), o...
