I've picked up Skyrim and the Saint's Row Franchise Pack so far. I think I've gotten to the point where I already have everything I'm interested in. This is definitely a better year for my wallet than the last one. EDIT: I seemed to have already forgotten I also bought Morrowind, Oblivion, Dishonore...

Your attunement to an item ends when the item has been more than 100 feet away from you for 24 hours and when you die.
The way I'm reading that sentence, it seems like the "and" should be an "or".

Modifiers are bigger than scores, thats kind of nice, as I'm for going away from 3-18 and moving to -5 to 4. Are we looking at the same sheet? Because I see 16 Str and a +3 mod (+5 after class/whatever bonus). After your sentence I was hoping to see 8 Str and +16 mod or something, which would be ni...

I'm sure people have seen it already, but Project Beast's official title is Bloodborne.

Just based on the pseudo-Victorian aesthetic the trailer gives off, I'm expecting a Marvelous Chester cameo.

I've been using daggers the last couple hours and I have to agree with you. The fast attack speed is very nice. I've also assigned the fuck-off big hammer to my secondary slot, which has been amusing, at least. I'll probably end up using chakrams or scepters when I stop jackassing around with that.

I started playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning last night. It's been fun so far, even if I'm not yet out of the tutorial section. I've decided to go with a middle of the road jack-of-all-trades style character for now (splitting my points more or less evenly between the three combat trees) until I ...

Congratulations. I could go fight the final boss, but I'm taking my time to go do some other stuff. And I got Titanfall yesterday, so I'm taking a break to let my Dark Souls batteries recharge. I just beat the final boss a couple hours ago. It doesn't automatically roll into NG+ post-credits. You'l...

Fucking finally. I've been taking a break from my first character (Mastodon sword guy) because I ran up against a wall with Vendrick. He's not hard, but even with four Giant Souls and Sunlight Blade, he still tanks a lot of damage and can kill you in one shot no matter what armor you're wearing. Eve...

I went up on that platform with my first character, just expecting to find somewhere else to explore. It did not end well. You can just jump down. And it's not like the corpse run is very hard, so even though you only get one shot at the pursuer early and for more souls, it is still doable, and bas...

And the Last Giant isn't? For my next next character, I'm going to try Ornstein Old Dragonslayer as my first boss. If you can get shaded a couple times at the pursuer you can be level 30 or so before any boss, and then just find two shades and take the pursuer as your first boss on that platform. T...

I started a new playthrough yesterday, going all in on STR and DEX so that I can give the Mirrah Greatsword a try, since Lucatiel's already disappeared in my first playthrough. Currently using a Halberd. It's not even fully upgraded and I'm already getting damage numbers close to those with a fully ...

Yep, he drops the chime. Honestly, the whole Pilgrims of Dark covenant is sort of lame. Getting to Rank 2 may be worthwhile if you want the Resonant Soul hexes, but I don't see a point in trying for Rank 3. None of the other rewards really seem worth the effort (being the Climax hex and the Xanthou...

By killing Darkdiver Grandahl. I now have the Dragon Chime and am happy-ish.

Fuck the Darklurker.

I'm so pissed that every time I die to the Darklurker, I have to burn a human effigy to open the chasm again and then kill all of the spirits in the chasm (including Havel!) before I can fight the fucker again.

Once the Mastodon Greatsword is upgraded to a basic +10, it's Strength scaling improves from B to A. ...I feel like a pitchman for the Mastodon Greatsword. Yeah, but the Myrrih Greatsowrd has C/A, so it does more for someone with both stats. Which is depressing, because even like a A/D scaling woul...

I'm using a Gyrm Great Hammer as my main weapon. With 50 Strength. Which tends to hit for 750 damage on a leap attack. Can go as high as a thousand. Damn. I usually get about 300-400 per one-handed R1 with the Mastodon. I'm only at 40 Strength right now, but that's also with the Ring of Blades +1. ...

I'm at about 50 hours with one character at about SL 110. Currently at the Undead Crypt. I'm finding that whenever my Mastodon Greatsword +10 can't make short work of something, Lightning Spears or Fireballs do the trick. I've been covenant hopping as I find them. Only two I'm missing are Pilgrims o...

Gentlemen of the Road- Michael Chabon I think his writing style is too florid (and/or purple) for the subject matter, but I'm going to keep trucking along with it. I loved the shit out of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay and The Yiddish Policeman's Union so I'm giving him the benefit of t...

I remember hating FF9 when it came out. Every single thing about it, from the art style to the characters to the combat. I only kept playing it because I'd rented it from Blockbuster and was going to get my money's worth (read: my parents' money) out of it. Fast forward about a decade later, with me...

I've had a couple interesting ones that stand out. A lot of the time I have dreams where I just go to work... and then wake up and go to work. One time I was Albert Einstein's bodyguard in the 1950s, protecting him from Nazi agents. Yes, the 1950s. More recently, I was helping Jay-Z dig up buried tr...
