As a long time shadowrun and vampire player it's really just the apologetics that puzzle me. When someone asks how your bad character sleeps at night you can always just say "on a pile of money and opiates."

People are going to get attached to something , but if you gave them some agency operator or handler character to get attached to, they'd probably find it easier to say "this guy is my real character, even though I only play them for like twenty minutes of each four hour session, because I pla...

There are things like Heroquest and Runescape and Talisman. Not necessarily good , but the fact that they exist speaks to people wanting to play real heroes that still maybe just fight a dragon and fucking lose . It doesn't all have to be gongfarmers and ratcatchers for a game where your character ...

As a symbol of greed psychedelic vulture demons aren't half bad and the Lord of Change consistently brings some decent sculpts and paint jobs to the table. Tzeentch definitely sucks ass but I think the Vrock expies could have held up if stapled onto a better concept.

I can't wait to hear how this is compatible with Trump publicly affirming he has a high degree of confidence in the "It came from a Chinese lab" theory.

I'd offer to contribute to this but all I bring to the table is bad grammar, zero math skills and a big pile of pet character concepts I'd inevitably end up showering favoritism upon. So, qualified for D&D, but not this.

You can easily tell because a ton of the forum fanboys are of the paint huffing "Single player games shouldn't even try to be balanced" set. I suppose that could be called a difference of opinion, but I'd stress to developers that going that route is a great way to make sure you never get ...

Given the amazing ineptitude/callousness of his handlers I'm perfectly fine with him choking on some of his own turbulence. I'm not happy about it but at this point I'd definitely take the wisdom of the pissed off crowds over leaving Trump alone with fucking Jared.

The layers of dog fucking and incest in this game are overlapping and very complicated. And I can understand how it got that way, but it's still wild to me that no one with editorial control over this project ever stepped in to say "we can't have multiple overlapping labels of incest, rape, an...

Even if it's technically possible to cast these goobers I'm leery of going too combo heavy with an initial card set design anyway. It's desirable to have archetypes that reward players for successfully constructing a megazord but getting that balance right is a tough needle to thread. It's easy to a...

Re: OSSR: RAGE (Unlimited)

Frank touches on this, but the Werewolf playing field is...complicated. It's not, really. That graphic grossly over-complicates the game (at the time the graphic was made, at least. Don't know about post-90s stuff). I don't buy this. Even your post seems pretty damning when you realize that each de...

Yeah, I mean, obvious Shadowrun stan over here but ultimately Cyberpunk 2020's greatest strength is that it has Cyberpunk in the name and Netrunner was pretty cool. As an RPG property it came across as being defined by what it didn't have in comparison to Shadowrun. That's a strength in the sense th...

Re: The concept of 'organic' growth in D&D

Honestly what gives with these people? Why are they playing D&D and not looking for another TTRPG that suits their needs? This is a super weird take given you can change a rpg by busting out a notepad. People want organic advancement because working with whatever tools you find in your environm...

Things were definitely more openly sexist back then but I wouldn't say another world, sadly. I am very confident I know at least one dude who would float the concept "ironically" and then double down and power trip if the player seemed annoyed rather than amused by the suggestion. The big ...
