Lots of really poorly thought out stuff there, as expected (You are what you eat, for example, is a trash fire) -but some unexpected good stuff too. The Hunger system and even the sketchy blood potency rules seem a lot more usable than the old Blood Point rules. They make elders who can go a lot lon...

If I were you I'd pay off the whole car loan, because debt is something you should do your best to get rid of... but I don't live in the US where you can get fucked by medical costs etc. at any time, so it's probably better to take Stahlseele's advice: pay down half of it and save the rest.

Yes; flipping that many coins is annoying. Now, there's no reason not to start using d6s with TN 4+ rather than d10s. D6 are more useful for other games, roll better and more people have then long around.

It had a splash of green for Hapatra, but she's not super necessary. Testing it on TappedOut, I found that I don't get the combo pieces reliably. So there are fourish slots that need to be filled. What would be good ways to fill those slots and get the combo pieces more reliably? Read the Bones? Or...

Some of you guys might remember that I asked a lot of questions in this direction last year. I used White Wolf's semi-canonical number of 1 vampire per 100 000 people, meaning that there are about 75 000 vampires worldwide, all told. (This ratio holds true in the present day but not necessarily thro...

In my opinion, this framing of the problem is backward. The only way to have a system that describes a consistent, verisimilar setting rather than a 4e-style bonus treadmill is to design the challenges first and determine what's level appropriate at any given level from there, rather than vice versa...

I was kind of partial to

GOP: -the Dragon will self-regulate.
But you're right, the spider one is probably the best.

"Still going strong" may be a bit generous. You could say that about him at Wrestlemania, but ever since then he's been showing his age more and more in my opinion. No shame in that; the guy is a legend and possibly my favorite wrestler of all time, but I think he should have retired in 20...

This doesn't really belong here because I still like Strong Female Protagonist a great deal and think what's currently going on in the comic is quite interesting, but couldn't Brennan have found a more dynamic way of bringing up these points than having two people take turns talking to themselves in...

Speaking of forest bats and Swordcraft, I opened my free initial packs, scrapped a bunch of cards for factions that didn't interest me, spent my vials building a forest bat deck that looks a bit like the one Mistborn posted, and took it on a test drive through the Bloodcraft singleplayer campaign. ...

The whole 5e thing gives me greater appreciation for the work that went into 3E. Despite all its screw ups, 3E's was an ambitious attempt to make a comprehensive RPG engine for running fantasy games. And it was a fun game that really sucked in a lot of people. Whereas 5e seems like they didn't even...

6-11ish. I like the lower levels too, but I feel that the mid levels are where the most fun adventures are had - you can have dramatic and high-stakes adventures, do highly dangerous things with confidence if you need to, and shake up most settings without totally outgrowing them. That's when the ga...

So, Vampire demographics again... The canonical "1 per 100 000" number that's nominally VtM canon gives a global vampire population of about 72 000 - obviously far too few to sustain the society described in the books, or much of any society at all above the local level, but that isn't act...

I would use M&M because I know it better than Champions, but from what I do know of Champions it might be the better system.

Another option is Feng Shui, although you'd have to do a bit of up-front work.

I ran a game where that specific issue became a plot point actually. I decided (probably in contravention of some obscure bit of canon) that the reason why the Realms are called "Forgotten" is that Toril and the planes that connect to it are basically AO's jumbled toybox, cordoned off from...
