OgreBattle wrote:What’s a wyvern like in PF2e, they seem a good benchmark monster
It comes out in August. There weren't any wyverns in the playtest bestiary.

I liked it more. She reads as tougher and more confident to me. I still wish she was more muscled up, though.

The head is identical size. The waist/chest becomes smaller, so I guess proportionately compared to waist width yes, the head is smaller, but height seems nearly identical as well. Mostly they gave her a thinner torso. As variation between artists goes, that's not a bad likeness at all and certainl...

She looks like she's dying of ghoul fever or hitting undernourishment, to me. She's supposed to be an absurdly buff colossus that swings a sword made for someone 15 feet tall, I would've expected them to update the art to match that better rather than worse.

One of the bullet points on the back of the box is that 2nd Edition is supposed to simplify and condense the game.

That shit definitely isn't happening. The core rulebook is apparently going to be 640 pages.

Anything else you want to do is by definition more cumbersome than that, so you'd better be prepared to tell me what you actually intend to achieve. I have. And it's called "buy my book". You can learn about it in my signature. (hahhahahah) If you're not willing to explain what you're try...

The idea of a generic character building resource that trickles in over the course of progression is fine. It's also not really a stunning revelation, and almost everything about the actual implementation of feats, including but not limited to what is or isn't a feat, how many feats you get, and how...

But, a youtuber I follow recently put up a bunch of playthroughs of Stellaris, and military conquest seems to be key to his strategy. Lay some claims during peacetime (when it's cheaper), declare war, blow up their fleet, capture the systems you claimed, blow up their reinforcements, demand status ...

So power points, absent some additional system about dynamic refresh or incidental defense costs or whatever is offering flexibility where the flexibility is that it allows boring move spam that would otherwise not be possible. And you really have to ask why you'd want to enable that kind of shit. ...

The only gameplay effect I can think of is empire cohesion. If you have a lot of external hyperlanes per system you control your empire will start counting as lager than it actually is, which is bad for a few reasons but mostly it increases the cost of research.

It's literally the TCG model. The only difference client-side is that the money you make selling cards can only be spent on other cards or video games on Steam.

PF 2e doesn't release until August 2019. They were selling physical copies of the playtest materials. How fucking dare they. Seriously, what incredible nerve. It gets worse. Halfway through the playtest they started releasing updates that significantly changed the core systems of the game and often...

Missed a zero on a bunch of them, I think:

1:5000 - 1:7500 as Dense
1:7501 - 1:12500 as Average
1:12510 - 1:15000 as Sparse

I don't know what's up with Valerie. Her first companion quest never fired for me and I don't use her in my party. Amiri pretty clearly doesn't care about her old tribe at any point, so I'm not sure where you got that from. I've been using Octavia without Regongar and she hasn't seemed awkward "...

They're usually drifters without an actual home (camping and occasionally staying at an inn doesn't make them not homeless), often because the players don't want to spend any of their magic item budget on a house or apartment you'll never actually see or use during the campaign.

You can retarget spells any time before casting is completed, which makes it a lot easier to land crowd control. Web in particular is extremely effective, and remains a strong crowd control option for most of the game.

Starfinder is terrible, but it's definitely not a game made from scratch. It's clearly Pathfinder with a few changes they were considering for 2nd edition thrown in.

I'm a big fan. Probably one of my favorite CRPGs ever. They did a good job of adapting and improving Kingmaker's story, and the companions are interesting and fun. The difficulty curve is pretty standard for D&D games, of course, the beginning can be tough depending on your build and it gets eas...

From what I've read about Kingmaker, you have a somewhat limited number of classes (8 or 9 plus prestige?), they couldn't manage the NPC AI from the 90's (cast these types of spells/be offensive or defensive/etc.), it's still full of bugs from the beta, and the designers probably couldn't spell CR,...

They're backing off on Resonance. They've said they're removing its interaction with consumable items, and rethinking whether they want to use the system at all. The Medicine effect is intended as an alternative to carrying wands, apparently.
