Well book 1 is where a gamer gets summoned into a sort-of kiddified fanasy world and it's established by the non *Boop*ed profanity at end of book 1 that the series is going to about him literally breaking the physical rules of that world by thinking in ways others don't think and breaking that worl...

On the subject of MAG and it's RNG: here's my own nested quotes review of a review from 5 years ago: There is an Mistborn RPG... Mistborn uses dice pools to determine whether an action is successful or not. Success is accomplished by rolling matching numbers. The matching numbers rolled become the R...

Stormlight Archives is a book, so there are no mechanics. The author just writes whatever he thinks is cool. That said, the author is Brandon Sanderson, so all of the magic systems in his books have well established rules that translate very well to RPGs. Not quite. Sanderson writes magic systems w...

Finally saw Godzilla: King of the Monsters. While the visual effects, giant monster personality animation and cinematography were top notch, the bit where Godzilla is killed due to betrayal, then resurrected from his tomb after three days so that he can be the savior of humanity and claim his place ...

Been watching a lot of MovieBob lately. Shrapnel (and most of the Gen Xers here) might be interested into the deep-dive he does into the G1 Transformers Movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9iab0z6Kyg and his related aside about Orson Welles's voice work as Unicron: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Oh, and too late for this, but there's a lot of recommendations around endurance exercise now that probably anti-inflammatory drugs are hurting the healing process. From what I've read, it seems to depend on the type of anti-inflammatory and the degree of inflammation. However, I'm pretty sure what...

So yesterday I rode a century, and pushed to achieve a personal best time (still really slow compared to serious cyclists) So for the back half or so I was riding in a position that put strain on my left hand and wrist. I figgered it would all be okay after I got off the bike....sadly not so. Even a...

Was that Jean, or the pod people version of her? Both. As originally written it was Jean. Years later they wanted to bring the original five X-men together to launch X-Factor, so they needed a resurrection for Jean that also absolved her of guilt for destroying the D'bari homeworld - because you ca...

Putting any individual race onto a path to sustainability is in no way impacted by large scale mass murders. Halving the population can be undone by simple family reproduction in two generations. Over the long run, the Thanos snap wouldn't even be noticeable - since all of the people in question wo...

The dumbass tactics on both sides of the fight bugged me. Hey, we have a force of mixed armies, let's send both our commanders out on dragons where they cannot communicate. And then let's lock everyone else with the rank and brains to co-ordinate the defense in the crypt where they cannot communica...
Re: Death
I'm getting by. Sort of. My head isn't working right and it's really frustrating. It's hard for my thoughts to come out coherently; sentences just don't want to come out in order with all the necessary information that people need to understand them. I try planning shit, but it's never quite right....
