At that point it would just be smarter to take a page out of Ye Olde Fire Emblem's book and make it so nobody can crit on attacks without a specific ability. Or a Gamble attack where you take -5 to hit but crit on a 16+ or something. Anything is better than nat 1s failing on skill checks.

It looks like they're keeping Bounded Accuracy, and they have introduced a rule where you fail skill checks on a 1 and succeed on a 20 (I don't remember if that was in 5e).

It's creepy and unnerving. But it's also free and easy to use! I dig it! I should plug in some Pokemon stuff sometimes, I've noticed that these Art AI things tend to do well with licensed characters.

But that sounds fucking awful. Why would you want to blue-ball your players like that? That sounds like it would incentivize them to throw themselves into narratively dramatic encounters just to use the power they got. That's... fine, but it sounds like it can get real cheesy real fast.

I haven't watched the trailer yet because I'm afraid of the secondhand embarrassment I'll experience. Is it tolerable?

Perhaps I missed this in your review, but... what if one of the PCs is a kobold? Anything special for that? I thought that seemed obvious, but none of the pregenerated PCs are kobolds. Don't tell me they wrote a kobold-specific adventure without considering someone might want to play as one.

I'm fond of any class that gives size bonus increases. I remember watching too much Fist of the North Star and making a class based around growing to comically large anime villain size, complete with menacing auras and overwhelming strength.
