Frank The final comic demonstrates a guy hiding in a barn from some soldiers and then summoning a dumb looking demon to slaughter them when they insist on bringing him in for witch-burning. That sounds cooler than it is. Neither the sorcerer nor the summoning ritual is actually shown. K: I think th...

I honestly don't think the premise of Exalted can work in a rules-heavy system. Exalted wants to mimic things like the Odyssey, Labors of Heracles and the Epic of Gilgamesh. And those things, like most folk stories, are not big on rules. Some times Heracles moves rivers and wrestles giants. Other ti...

This doesn't mean that the “high power” splats don't have access to things that don't do anything – you could make a Solar whose every Charm was tied up in writing messages really well. Mind you, that Solar isn't actually the worst. Because from the charms for writing very fast you can branch off i...

"Exploiting flaws" really only showed up in the Infernals, where every perfect makes you a Puzzle Boss. And one of the reasons they got broke is that the changes in 2.5 mechanics made those puzzles trivial and/or irrelevant. For example, SWLIHN's flaw is that she can't block any combo or c...

IMHO, Bloodlines attained a big cult status and Alpha Protocol attained only a small cult status is because Bloodlines came in with a pre-built audience. There are and were people who play or read or heard about Vampire the Masquerade and/or Kindred: the Embraced and they act as infection vectors fo...

When Frank and K talk about two different visions in Exalted: Infernals, that is literally true. The first half of the book was written by some guy working under assumption that he's writing an evil book of evil, featuring Infernals, which is why so much time is spent on the Yozi and why everyone's ...

The Party said that Oceania had never been in alliance with Eurasia. He, Winston Smith, knew that Oceania had been in alliance with Eurasia as short a time as four years ago. But where did that knowledge exist? Only in his own consciousness, which in any case must soon be annihilated.

I finally watched it and thought the same. My fam enjoyed it, too. Did they make this movie to shut up people who thought a black {insert superhero of choice} was against cannon?

No, the fight scenes are very bad. Not because of the CGI, but because they are heavy on padded sumo and complete lack of indication of how damaged the people are.

I watched Aquaman. It's alright, 6/10. It neither really "rocked" me, nor "lost" me, but I didn't hate my time. Recap to follow, beware of spoilers. The movie opens with Galadriel Queen of Atlantis fleeing an arranged marriage. She's wounded, but is saved by Discount Tom Hanks, a...

Dude, if it takes 80 hours a week just to work at one of your companies, then how exactly are you running 4 of your companies? Because "running a company" is a non job where if you died, your job could literally be done by your assistants for a year before anyone even noticed you were gon...

Sadly it's becoming so standard that media like mangas treats it like a joke. "Haha the main character sleeps 4 hours per day so he can work the other 20 drowning himself in coffee to stay awake then when he runs out of caffeine just collapses so funny". No, it isn't. Well, it is funny. B...

Musk is no Nikola Tesla, no matter how much he might want to be. First off, Telsa was constantly broke, because he literally had no idea how money worked. Westinghouse had to basically pay for his home and food and such. Further, Tesla was not just a genius, but also utterly batshit insane, had no ...

The entirety of Musk's modern empire is state-funded. Tesla exists, and can only exist, because by making electric cars and nothing but electric cars they can massively game the ecology subsidies and sell their eco credits to normal car manufacturers.

Saying Musk invented Hyper-Loop is super bold words. The concept behind it has been invented literally a century ago. The actual implementation hasn't been done by anyone including Musk due to its apparent physical impossibility.
