Which brings me to another question: how good is the Conjurer if you don't use a bunch of dubious interpretations that are individually and collectively not going to fly at an actual table? -Username17 Personally, I would also very much like this question to be answered. Conjuration is one of the b...

What I meant was that in order to not drop off in power as you level up a force user needs to get Education, so they try for it. Whether or not they actually get it is... well, is your GM a bad person? Not necessarily. But as a GM and player, I recognize that to keep game balance one needs to weigh...

What... does that have to do with anything? The system causes Use The Force to be way ahead of attacks at early levels, then because the games math does scale properly everyone rushes to get the Education destiny to stay on par. You cannot rush the Education destiny, because it is absolutely up to ...

Saga isn't exactly a paragon of balance, but this is just bad. First, you're positing a party of characters who are all Jedi/Sith Masters of 14th level at the lowest (probably higher). The ability to use powers in-system is taken from the movies (Darth Vader choking an officer through a screen, whi...

As a general rule I think saga edition min maxing probably looked a lot like a party of Jedi specializing in Force Use skill and using powers and talents that let them substitute their maxed out Force Use for basically every roll in the game. Force Using things like Force Stun would knock almost an...

Re: Why does Star Wars Saga have such a bad rep?
A straight Jedi will lack horribly in the skill department. Which would matter if you couldn't just declare yourself to be using your use the force skill in place of any other skill you might want to roll. But since you can, meh. Uh, okay? Yeah, you can buy with your few precious talents the abilit...

Re: Why does Star Wars Saga have such a bad rep?
It's a pretty straightforward question. I've just never asked it. I mean I've been reading the book lately and I seriously don't find anything in the rulebook offensive on any important level. I mean it's basically just low powered DnD start to finish. Jedi's are obviously better than anybody else ...

I am practically jizzing my pants at the thought of a story of a Captain Planet-style Genius deciding that his goal is to kill all of the werewolves in order to give Mother Earth the finger. How'd that be different to what Pentex, Black Spiral Dancers and other similar entities plan to do and actua...

1a. Vampires stick to the city. Why? Their food source is there, but also, as soon as you leave town, lupines (werewolves, technically *not* garou) will shred your ass and turn you into dust. You have to specifically build yourself as a survivalist character to live outside a city. Which always was...

What actually happens is that a bunch of people relatively secure in their humanity or monsterdom who think it'd be awesome to be a wolf get together and curb stomp monsters and super soldiers from Team Evil. And that can be a fun time to spend the evening. :) I will say, though, that the spiritual...

I think the main reason why vampires and werewolves are supposed to be tormented by their drawbacks is so that emo goths can be emo. ^^ Well, I can see vampires seeing their unlife as a curse more than the werewolves. After all, you never get to see the sun, occasionally kill someone, even if you tr...

I find it modestly annoying how many pathfinder rules involve arguments about whether a weapon attack which is resolved as a touch attack under certain circumstances counts as a touch attack for purposes of things that trigger on touch attacks. There are people who believe that it does, which means...

The firearms rules are a joke. With short-ranged shots being ranged touch attacks, they make all other forms of attacking meaningless. It doesn't even matter that you don't get Str bonuses to damage because you can just use Deadly Aim (Pathfinder's version of Power Attack for ranged) to add lots of...

It's mostly that the Judgement is a sacred bonus and Bane is an unnamed one. That together already gives a solid +5 to hit and +7 + 4d6 to damage at that level. With Divine Power you get another +4/+4 and another attack, for a total of four attacks at +23/+23/+23/+18, for 1d8+4d6+19 per shot. The fi...

Well, due to me recently having seen Solomon Kane, after returning from college today I threw some numbers together for a 12th level archer Inquisitor, with really mediocre equipment and a 15 point-buy. I got a character which needs one round to prep with self-buffs and then can do about 185 points ...

Just do what I did: constantly insult both the MC and Pathfailure as a whole until they get the hint and quietly fold the game. So, be a fuckwad and try to purposely and preemptively ruin everyones game? That's a good way to losing friends and playing with your wee-wee instead of with other people....

There are 18 tribes, I think K's point is made. Not commonly available from the core book. Bone Gnawers, Black Furies, Children of Gaia, Fianna, Get of Fenris, Glasswalkers, Red Talons, Shadow Lords, Silent Striders, Silver Fangs, Uktena, Wendigo and ( still counting them ) Stargazers. Not sure whe...

The setting wants to default that way, but the rules don't support it. I mean, Werewolves are wicked strong in some fields, but they don't seem to get good powers and definitely don't get a theme (a major prereq for a super-hero). I personally can't even tell you more than two Tribes off the top of...

Vampire defaults to dark superheroes pretty easily. I assume that this is why it's the most playable of the games. I'd say Werewolf: The Apocalypse is the easiest for that style, because fighting the agents of the Wyrm is pretty much the nearest thing to real heroism in the WoD. Although maybe the ...
