Is there any way to prevent the math breakdown after level 11 with the current 3E system? It really seems to be most significant problem as far as I am concerned and the guys at Paizo do not really seem to understand it / don't give a crap about their high-level opponents being ROFLstomped all the t...

BTW, they are floating a trial balloon of their next edition pretty openly right now, with the spring 2015 release of Pathfinder Unchained. "The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game contains numerous rules considered sacred by players and GMs alike. Since the system itself was based upon RPG "techn...

IIRC, cameras would only show fuzzy images or not work at all (although I could be conflating the Dresden Files a bit into my old memories). Anyway, since the camera footage of werewolves ripping apart people would inevitably be of bad quality, the fuckload of supernatural races who all want to keep...

Also, let's not forget that only PC's get the juicy PC WBL. NPC's are stuck with their own sucky WBL progression.

Very interesting. I hope you make similar threads for oWOD Vampire and Werewolf. Although I don't know if anybody can make a more entertaining summary of the last days of oWOD Vampire than Gehenna: The Musical did.

Well, if you cut out the more stupid grimdark setting background, WtA becomes a game where you fight evil megacorporations who want to pollute the planet to death. As werewolves!

It's not the worst set-up for an RPG and the spirit stuff and pack dynamics can make the game quite interesting.

He's actually right, and it shows how lame the fighter is: there is no way to differentiate a level 1 Fighter fighting a FP 1 monster from a level 20 fighter fighting a FP 20 monster. LotR is a level 5 adventure because of the magic implied. But you can add 15 fighter level to every character, it d...

How do those alternate summons work anyway? It was my understanding that a wizard knows how the spell works thus can summon any monster it damn well pleases, so how do new options if you worship god X work / make sense? You can normally only summon monsters on the list provided in the CRB when usin...

Getting mythic levels is a completely optional process, so I don't see how the rules would impact any discussions on balance of the main game. Not that I'd even try to make an argument that the main game is balanced, but at least you can play it well enough if you don't actively try to break the game.

Just wanted to quote Jim Butcher here from his interview with Aint It Cool News: ""So I started to run a D&D game, except D&D isn’t D&D anymore because now they’re into the 4th Edition thing and it’s a cool game and all, but it’s not D&D. So I went out and grabbed Pathfinde...

They just announced another class splat. Advanced Class Guide. Now you can play a Slayer and be a sucky Ranger/Rogue. Also, more class bloat. (Still not reaching 3.5 levels yet.) Well, I'd wait to see what the actual Slayer looks like, before declaring it sucky. IMO, the after-core classes from Pai...

So far I haven't seen anything which let's you cast more than twice per round (Quicken Spell already included), although you can add additional targets to single target spells and other stuff like this. But there are plenty of ways which make your spells less likely to be resisted, be it through enh...

Can't say I think that Reign of Winter was half-assed. The two middle modules didn't do it for me personally, but Rasputin Must Die! was excellent and the last one certainly was up to par with the other good AP finales.

I can agree on some of those points. Mods do delete a lot of posts when fights break out, but I also have detected an existing bias towards letting a certain sub-group of posters mostly alone (i.e. Gorbacz, who just makes personal attacks against everybody who dares to criticize Paizo's design deci...

From what I've been reading about it, it sounded like a lot of money (hint: I'm cheap) for a game with not a whole lot of replayability. It's a bit moot for me because I don't do a lot of boardgaming nowadays. I'm able to get the base set and character add-on for about 40 Euros from Amazon.co.uk, s...

Don't forget, that was the community they set out to build for Pathfinder from the beginning- they wanted they 'Hurrah it isn't 4e!' fans and actively discouraged rational criticism. Criticism, after all, is merely a psychological flaw of a negative personality. Man, it must be nice to live so divo...

Well, yeah, I see your complaints as a bit too picky. ;) And you are correct that the Garund nations are more off the wall than the ones in Avistan.

Well, I would say that there is actually pretty big variety of standard fantasy nations in Avistan, lessee... At least the 3e FRCS had a whole bunch of adventure hooks in it for all sorts of levels. All I got out of Golarian was there's a hellmouth and silver dragons with epic paladins on their backs are all going extinct trying to keep it contained. Which is Elminster up to 11 and still no hooks in sight....
