Would someone be interested in reviewing old d20 adventure modules, like the popular ones from Necromancer Games? You always read that WotC sucked at making 3E adventures and 3rd party publishers were putting out the real shit, and I wonder if that's actually true. From our 2016 perspective, that is...

Why wouldn't anyone use the late 3.5 statblocks, which are pretty much exactly what PF is using? It's so much better to read and to find special abilities or damage values or whatever with a sidelong glance, also the CR is at the top and not the bottom which makes a lot more sense. I always thought ...

Another thing that Synthesists benefit from is how ridiculously SAD most Charisma-based PF classes are these days. With enough splatbooks in the game you can add Cha to pretty much anything you want, sometimes even twice thanks to PF's terrible power descriptions. A player in my weekly game plays a ...

Are you playing the Borbarad campaign/7 Gezeichnete by any chance? Some of this 1st edition stuff actually foreshadows parts of it, but a lot of the background for that particular campaign only got introduced in 3rd edition. They added tons of details to the magic rules and cosmology just to set th...

Both ENWorld and GiantitP have lots of archivation going on right now, I think most of the interesting content should be saved this way. But depending on what you think of save-worthy content a personal backup via HTTrack might not be a bad idea. Be aware though that most of the older links and thre...

Well, that was an entertaining little ride. Thanks AH! I own a handful of Dungeon/Dragon issues from the 3rd Edition era, and I found them to be good readings for the loo. Like you guys said, generally nice art and a few cool ideas, but mechanics tend to suck (or blow). But I used more than one crea...

Thanks guys. I don't have a problem with changing things, but I wanted to make sure to at least understand the standard model of the Matrix (if there is such a thing) before going all homebrew on the matter. So apparently I can throw all kinds of quasi-technical terms at the players and still claim ...

Ok, so I finally got into Shadowrun (yeah!), but the group decided to ditch SR's rules and just use the fluff and the universe. So now I am reading sourcebooks like a maniac, and I have some problems figuring out how the matrix is supposed to work - not in terms of SR-rules, but in terms of concept....

Huh. I find it amusing that the wording of Alter Summoned Monster means it's more for declawing any summoned opposition since you can replace something summoned with a level 9 spell with something summoned by a level 1 spell. Well, since ASM explicitly says the replacement is under the same conditi...

Link There seems to be a fair amount of outcry and confusion on the Paizo boards because they ignored a lot of known issues and nerfed other things to the ground. Bloodragers now can use shields and re-learn spells, but Swashbucklers got it in the earhole pretty hard. Divine Protection went from st...

To be fair, they just made it easier - you already have options to inflict vulnerability to mind-affecting shenanigans on creatures that would normally be immune to that, such as Threnodic Spell for example.
