Thanks for the earlier suggestions, everyone. I'm weighing options between playing in two different Pathfinder 1e games, for which the goals are in pleasant opposition. The first game's mission statement is to necessarily go slowly via entertainingly grinding to repeated halts, akin to a game of d20...

I prefer to read transcripts of press conferences when available as a matter of self-preservation. This makes witnessing the current conference somehow worse. I think my finding that 45's directly refusing to take responsibility and making facile comparisons to swine flu is only exceeded in offensiv...

If the given wizard uses a particular weapon, I say go for the portmanteau. A sword wizard is a swizard, a spear wizard is a spizard or sorcereranseur, a shuriken wizard is a shwizard, and a bow wizard is a bowarlock. Alternatively, a F/M could be considered a Fim. If it's just a term used for rules...

I'm not sure I can unironically recommend Color out of Space, or at least do so more strongly than, say, Die Farbe. The effects are fine, but most of the characters seem placed not so much for purposes of a development arc but to satsify an end-state that was clearly written first. Also, having seen...

I've since given Chapo Trap House a couple more hours of my time, which I would like back. I'm hesitant to consider them quintessentially Berniebro, but feel that an inadvertent association with them lowers the public discourse. I feel almost obligated to state my support of a given candidate is not...

I'm fully in the target demo for that podcast, and that was the first episode to which I listened. Thank you for suggesting other ones to check out, because I otherwise would have never given them a second thought. While admittedly almost nothing turns me off faster than group singing, I found that ...

I assume the reason there aren't salad classes is so that people can't call it a Saladin. I'd say they would all get a heal like Re-Fresh or Quick Bite, perhaps the ability to fling produce with a Great Fork, and have passive dressing-based auras. While the Order of the Side Salad can switch between...

One could put a Paranoia spin on Tomb of Horrors easily enough. Friend Cosmic Abacus hasn't received a status update from the Indigo in Subterranean Facilities Development since they met with Residual Human Resources, and a team of troubleshooters is sent to ensure any new construction is in accorda...

Danny Rand can't help but be two-dimensional. There are five main facets to his character: have crazy kung-fu fights, get woke by his first black friend, fumble at leveraging his wealth in service to his newly acquired social awareness, have an off-and-on relationship with Misty Knight, and provide ...

I haven't yet looked at the recently released Kickstarter Edition, but believe nothing much has changed. Infiltrating different groups is fairly central to the game, moreso than assigned maintenance. Combat is basically a d20 roll-under with 7 hp, as shown in the XP Universal Hostility Formula on p7...

In Palladium games, what are relative must-have abilities? Auto-dodge comes first to mind, as well as access to techno-wizardry via magic and/or psionics, immunity to magic(e.g. the splugorth bird people slave races), psionics, or forms of damage (like a vampire in a Glitterboy), and maximizing numb...

In 1990 I enjoyed playing a cheesy TDTMNT character, and checked a pdf to look up the numbers. It was a size level 4 mutant human Apprentice Time Lord with hands/biped/speech/looks set to none, Ectoplasmic Hands/Psychic Walk/Telepathy/Force Field/Extraordinary I.Q. for powers/psionics, and a bad Dav...

Dragonstar I haven't yet been able to check the Player's Companion, but assuming there's nothing applicable then Artificer is the fastest choice. Taking the Implant Spellware feat requires a 5th level spellcaster (3rd level Artificer), the non-feat Technical Proficiency (which a character could hav...
