... Huh. I'd never noticed that before. So the tarrasque is indeed helpless against any incorporeal foe. Goddammit WotC.

Correct, have an internet cookie! Extra lulzy because in 3e the tarrasque has 0% chances of victory. The best case scenario is a permanent draw if the allip rolls natural 1s on their attacks forever, but otherwise the godzilla wannabe is powerless in their supposed field of expertise (melee) agains...

I'm not particularly well-read with regards to tabletop systems so I'll have to defer to greater experience on the topic of it being a retread. I'm not sure what you mean by epicycles in this context though. If it's the "being more competent at a task sometimes means you're less likely to succe...

Has anyone heard of or looked at Open Legend ? It's intended to be a fairly simple classless point-based system that can be used with any setting. Most interesting to me is that it's open source, so the complete rules are available at that website, and from the various blog posts I've read about it ...

I read the pdf ages ago and remember liking it, so I've slammed down 20 whole Canadian dollars to get a physical copy of Antipaladin Blues and, now that I've been reminded of it, 10 A Boot Stomping... (I always did enjoy a good BASIC joke). The eBook price are low enough I might splurge to get the d...

I'm generally ok with fanservice in comedy shows, but it's not a strong enough comedy vehicle to stand up on its own so if there's too much I get bored and stop watching. I really hate it when it's just shoehorned into anime willy-nilly, though. The belly dancing stuff in Gargantia was weird and it'...

Oh Bronzestabbed, home of the murk and the favorite vacation spot of a family of inbred hillbilly minotaurs. If you're not following it, the current overseer turn is magic, though more so if you've been following the thread from the start.

The firebug might join the sweeping team when I can be bothered, pulling a Sunny Day/Heat Wave/Bug Buzz/??? (another Special Attack with good type coverage, maybe Thunder to take care of enemy Rain Dancers). I can never resist making a dancing bug, giving it Quiver Dance/Fiery Dance (ok, that's a l...

wonder what he'd say if you had made him into a shield . . "will you stop holding me into the line of enemy fire already!" I got a fairly badass shield out of it (absorb incoming shots ~20% of the time and add them to your own ammo), and he spends every fight talking smack about your enem...

Level 4's kinda dead, innit? Every other level you can do something new, whether that be a new tier of abilities/morphs or new shiftable forms, but at level 4 you just get a floating +2 to an ability score and shifting as a move action, neither of which allow you to do anything particularly new or i...

My concerns about Ice Mirrors went unanswered. So: do you need to create two mirrors for the gate ability to work, or is the exit mirror created wherever you want it when you step through the entrance mirror? And do Colossal wintersmiths have to cram themselves into Medium sized mirrors? Also, how d...

He should probably be immune to damage from his own abilities. As it stands, if a higher level wintersmith stands in his own blizzard he has to keep saving against slow and risks freezing himself solid. Also, with the mirror ability, does the gate function require a second mirror at the exit point o...

I have spent so many hours in DF. In my most recent fort, the ghost of my vampire baron was eating children, and when I was unable to stop him I unleashed a horde of fire demons to burn the world. Good times.

I recently enjoyed reading The Riddle of Steel, an NGE fic that's basically Shinji WH40k except with Conan and finished. The creator describes it thus (spoilered for large image, possibly borderline NSFW):

Well, I'm even less sure what dissociated mechanics are than I am about disassociated mechanics being more than a useless buzzword Those words are synonyms, they mean exactly the same thing. Evasion never bugged me at all. The character is just better at finding good cover to dive for, and perhaps ...

His important business? Watching that Argonian sleep for hours.

So, will it be PvP or PvE primarily? That's a very important question. Most likely PvP. You'll click on a big red button that says fight, you'll be assigned to a team of probably 12 mechs, and your job will be do flatten the 12 or so enemy mechs. Thinking about it, you'll probably won't be able to ...

Another FoV question: is the Lifesense ability as the Wraith ability, or as the Libris Mortis feat? If the former, is its range 60 ft, as with the Wraith, or 120 ft to match up with Deathsense?

Since this looks like it's actually going to get going, I should probably mention that the last time I used IRC was probably more than a decade ago, so any suggestions for a (free) client would be helpful. Also, Kaelik, was it your intention that the FoV's various undead-creating abilities be used t...
