It's mount or a trap depending on whether it's controlled or uncontrolled. The stats are almost the same because they are object stats. At this point I no longer have any idea what is meant by 'trap'. If a wolf, a puddle of lava, a hole in the ground, all birds, and a flooded basement of sharks are...

Taken the logical end, you could still have animals in a trap-like system until someone tried to make them into mounts or cast a spell on them to turn them into monsters. Then you stat them up appropriately. This doesn't quite make sense to me. You are specifically saying that a wolf should be a tr...

The argument for using it is that it was done in 2nd edition? And then everything that a warrior gets is to be slightly tougher? And they are so limited in thinking that they only worry about whether a monk is more like a rogue or more like a fighter?
Urgh.

Both of those seem really stupid. Frank's because any creation scheme you create based on the existing monsters runs the risk of having huge amounts of complications to make sure that existing monsters fit - the same way that trying to create a point-buy system for the PHB races sucked. And K's beca...

Firefox did the same by default, but at least had the option to turn it off. And if you look down the bottom of the new tab, there may be text saying 'Most Visited' and 'Apps'. If you click on Apps then it swaps over to a couple of icons like youtube, gmail, drive etc. This appears to stay on that p...

I'm looking to buy a smartphone at some point in the nearish future. My current phone cost £10 and was pretty much the cheapest I could get, but I'm going to need access to mobile apps, would like to be able to more easily develop mobile sites, and want to have a camera again. Does anyone have any r...

It's almost certainly possible to juggle around the combat assumptions and numbers so that flight is only a different tactic in combat that is roughly as effective as others. But I think the problem is more out of combat- it's more like the problem with half the party being aquatic or having centaur...

Are you saying that if a Rogue 1 gets bitten by a Werewolf and gets turned, they are suddenly a Rogue 1//Werewolf 5 with unequal gestalt classes? Yes, I didn't put that conventionally, so that's fairly well deciphered. Want some complete rules? It involves a bunch of special casing for all sorts of...

[*] Werewolf My trick with these guys was to make them a gestalt with some negative levels to buy off. A Com1 gets bitten, he's still a full Were, and because it's higher level it's uncontrolled. A Ftr16 gets bitten, he only loses control when he's down to less HP than the Were-class would have, an...

Re: 3d6 in order....
The real question is why anyone would like it. I can't see many positives to it. This. I can sort of see that it is about you roleplaying what you get from the dice, and having the 'realistic' part of an actual character rather than whatever you want. The same way that computer games where the prot...

What that suggests to me is that you really need a computer tool- maybe a phone or tablet app- that based on level/type/template/role generates a monster instantly so you can press a few buttons and immediately have a monster you can shove in. Bonus points if you can make random NPCs together with a...

I'm just going to piss all over your work... My initial assessment of your writing is that it is too much tell and not enough show. There are fiddly little typos and word usage I'd quibble about but they don't matter. The problem is that it often reads like a summary rather than a story. Some things...

I thought lycanthropy/vampirism was discussed and mostly solved- everyone has a number of slots for magic items which increases as they level up, and the benefits of lycanthropy take up item slots permanently. So the regeneration against everything except fire and silver uses one item slot, while th...

Can someone go briefly into the DSM-V and how it's changed? Preferably with a bit of extra information about the DSM in general if needed, because I know just enough to be interested, but not enough to fully understand the changes. And if there is the huge controversy, then it's unlikely that I'll f...
