Lago, do you have an example of an angsty character you feel is unjustly mocked?

It's just a matter of semantics ... when I hear angst I don't associate it with fear, sadness or even the dread from being in a situation out of your control. When I hear angst I think of an emotion which is just the the luxury of the rich middle aged people and teenagers. People without real proble...

Good/bad/medium progressions are ass too. Ass, ass, all ass. They are also pretty intrinsic to 3e to the point where removing them is going a step too far, and as long as you have fractional BAB then I don't see much reason to go with simpler fractions or the "sometimes you use this progressio...

You don't generally get high saves from multiclassing with fractional saves with a sane DM (ie. you don't repeatedly get the +2 from good saves).

Fractional BAB/Saves

I don't think the awkward fractions are really the fundamental problem with the difficulty people have keeping their BAB/Saves straight. I think the bigger issue is that all the class tables have BAB/Save progressions and that character sheets generally don't have some boxes to keep score of your le...

Hmm, I just noticed there is an entire Docbook version of the SRD on that site I linked ... unfortunately the XSL transforms I assume he used for part of the creation of the Docbook XML isn't there, but maybe he would provide those on request. Docbook might not have quite the range of options as TeX...

Side note: I am on travel for the month of January (my girlfriend and gaming group hate me). I will have time to try to get some of the grunt work done (a cleric class format, for example), and learn LaTEX. Also, I can host as needed. I do not check the forums daily, however (more of a weekly basis...

In my gaming group, we refer to our rewrite of the PHB and parts of the DMG based onFrank and Keith's work as "Final Edition". Pretentious, I know, but I'm doing this once unless I'm getting paid for it. Game On, fbmf Is there any chance of this final edition seeing release outside of you...

So, I ask, why not ditch both rules and just use fractional? Because in my experience, people can't actually do fractional. Presumably people can do table lookups though? If you just add a couple of boxes to the character sheets to record the number of levels with good/medium/bad BAB/saves and make...

Gungrave about zombies? I doubt trying not to offend religious nuts really helps much, they are perpetually offended. I don't really buy your explanation for why Bleach does well, both it and DBZ pretty much clash with Christian cosmology at every step. They do well because the kids just don't care ...

Bigode, depends on your reading. The abnormally high turning levels are the game-breaking part though.

UMD + Phylactery of Undead Turning allows you to set your turning level through the following rule :
"In this case, your effective level in the emulated class equals your Use Magic Device check result minus 20."
