I was considering running it 2 years ago. I might just run it eventually. This thread is useful for determining what to house rule, that's for sure.

Despite the number overload and the fact that the game breaks, I'm still tempted now and then to run a mini-campaign where the PCs are gods using the Immortals Handbook Ascension and IH Bestiary. Just need to find a reasonable group of people to try it with.

So give a feat every session and ignore feats as prerequisites? So a monk could take Vorpal Strike after the 1st session and it's all good?

Having read the complete book, I'm disappointed. The mechanics are clunky and carry over some of the worst ideas about epic/deity-level play. The only saving grace is the sandboxing tools and advice.

Most of Kevin Crawford's works are deriative of Labrinyth Lord which itself is a retroclone o BX D&D. While there are additions and adjustment here and there, most of the focus is on the sandboxing tools.

I've read most of the beta. There are things to like (the adventure generation tools are good) and things to hate (the damage mechanic is a hack, fighting man plus powers) but overall it doesn't do enough to upset the apple cart on what OSR play could be.

So having a near complete Feng Shui 1E collection (Architects, yey), I think I'll continue just playing that.

Is there anything worth backporting?

Only 2 adventure paths ever compelled me to try running them but I could never find players who were interested. Personally, the 101 Not So Random Encounters books by Rite Publishing deliver a similar experience without the railroad and in less than 40 pages.

Backporting Tome to 3.0E

I've decided to go back to 3.0e. Anything I should keep a lookout for in regards to using Tome material?

EX3 is not going to change the sexual fuckedupness of 2E. Their preview of the Abyssal Socialize tree can be summarized up as "ghost molestation" and "reducing victims to nymphomaniacs".

Hero Games Down To One Person

Kinda sucks that the company currently hawking my current game of choice is down to 1 person (from 3, I know, I know) and that the Book of the Empress needs a Kickstarter. Wished I could have bought more books to support 6E - I thought it made some necessary changes - but I had enough material from ...

Using Tome with PF

So, instead of 3.5, a number of prospective players want to use PF. Should there be any compatibility issues using Tome (classes, feats, BoG magic items)?
