Re: Saga of Two Jedi: Star Wars campaign log [no PL]

I'm not sure about an encounter book, but the wiki page has a hefty bestiary at least: https://swse.fandom.com/wiki/Nonheroic_Units

Re: Saga of Two Jedi: Star Wars campaign log [no PL]

Neat! I played in a couple Saga games, and it's still got some very appealing aspects as a system. I was always more interested in the engineering stuff than the magic in Saga, so it should be fun seeing how a primarily Jedi team does things. Looks like you've set up an interesting hook for our Jedi...

Re: New info on the upcoming Dragonlance novel

Hmm... Kang's Regiment was pretty good, if I recall correctly. Bunch of chill draconians learning that desertion is Cool and Good, running off to escape the silly alignment wars and make a new home for themselves. Then again, that was a long long time ago.

Re: Discord Server for discussing D&D 3.5 and Stuff that's compatible with it like Tome and Pathfinder

This server looks fun! I still play in a few houseruled 3.x games and it would be neat to share the weirdness that pops up in them with TGD folks. Doesn't really feel meaty enough content-wise to make threads just to post my ridiculous character sheets, though. Just joined, see ya there.

Auto-recruit: Will be a thing Recruitment queues: Kristoffer: Recruitment queues are now a thing. ctrl-click and recruitment will continue until you un-click it. 10 Planes, Agartha and Sky are more easily accessible the Sky being the easiest though if you don't have flying to expect to be able to e...

Re: Shopping for a new system

I've heard some cool stuff about Soulbound, and the incentives for the party to act as a team seem surprisingly elegant. Not much of a Warhammer fan personally, but this new high fantasy setting they are using for the RPG seems pretty cool.

CoE5: Nothing to fear but the deer itself

Conquest of Elysium 5 just got announced! 3 months out, but there's already some cool stuff on the Steam Page. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1606340/Conquest_of_Elysium_5/ Kobolds with dragon overlords, Caelians, and even rumors that you can play Dark Sun sorcerer kings leeching power out of th...

Re: [Disgaeagame] Canon Characters

Now that the forum search is broken, I'm not sure where I should look for the latest version of Disgaeagame. Looks like the Scribd link on this page still works. Is that the most recent? My group asked to have a session where they petition the Dark Assembly, and I remember Koumei's rules were a real...

Re: Is DnD the most popular because of ease?

I thought about whether pure market share had any effect, but there are so many popular IP games I either stopped playing or never played because the rules either made my eyes glaze over or they just seemed incomplete. Maybe it's also the approach? I mean, I don't know what a Wheel of Time RPG adve...

Re: Is DnD the most popular because of ease?

There are a few Blizzard people trying to do a project in 5E, but it doesn't have anything to do with Blizzard IP as far as I can see. Not really any kind of Warcraft port, though Blizzards memetic fondness for CORRUPTION is definitely present.

Re: Is DnD the most popular because of ease?

D&D Beyond has made a tremendous difference in ease and accessibility. Players can use their abilities without doing math, all they need is to push the button for their macro. That means that the people who have busy real life schedules and can't afford the energy to learn a rules set can still ...

What makes a Runelord's identity distinct from a demonlord or other somethinglord? They're archmages with some flavor of immortality and a bunch of seven deadly sins themed loot + minions. Paizo tends to give them piles of inherent bonuses from wishes, artifacts, custom super-templates. It's about ...

I've heard it argued that the 3 Convictions aren't THAT much different from a law/chaos/neutral path, but I'm interested in the way you can absolutely make smaller choices that influence the way things go. Exploration phase decisions can unlock special options in combat maps later on, and mutually e...

https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/project-triangle-strategy-switch/ It looks like we might be seeing a real successor to the Ogre Battle / Final Fantasy Tactics style tactical RPG next year. I seem to remember a number of D&D modules use the Demon Lords and Archdevils as Penis Extension NPCs. Paizo was particularly fond of this, like in Savage Tide, where they try to force the party to ally themselves with several Demon Lords to fight Demogorgon. Pathfinder definitely still did thi...
