Like there's a Smartfetch or whatever feature that notes your program usage and keeps the ones you use most often pre-loaded in the RAM. Which is okay for normal people, but it slows things down after a while, and it's a couple of hoops to jump through to turn it off. This sounds like it could help...

Oh, I agree that it's an oversimplification, but it's not too far off. The first half of adolescence has certain body parts speaking very loudly to the brain. I'm pretty sure it's a result of genetic drift (or flow. I can NEVER keep those two straight...); Back Inna Dawna Time, the people/creatures...

On the subject of Blu-Ray, what do people think the odds are that it'll actually succeed? When DVDs replaced VCR tapes there was an enormous upgrade in terms of what the consumer got - instant scene skip, multiple sound and subtitle tracks, and so on. Blu-Ray doesn't add anything in that respect (t...

What the fuck is a fequentist? A person who believes Probability applies only to repeatable events. I.e. Probability measures the frequency with which event A occurs under a particular set of conditions. There are also Bayesians, who interpret Probability to mean the certainty associated with a fac...

This is besides the fact that trying to apply probability to the existence of God is retarded. Seriously. How the hell do you judge a probability of an omnipotent being's existence? Short answer: you don't. Either He exists or He doesn't, and believing one or the other is ultimately just shooting c...

It's not a particularly human face. The big wattery eyes and the malformed face make it look kinda inhuman.ubernoob wrote:I'm gunna need an explanation here. Like, stat. Re: Waking up
1. Is there a surefire way of changing the sleeping pattern? 2. If I just regulate it with sleeping pills at night, caffeine pills/Red Eye in the morning and coke throughout the day, is there really a chance of the chemicals having any lasting effects on me? All they'd be mixing with is Venlafaxine...

Despite Ubernoob's experience and your own, I've found the vast majority of players I've spoken to find that the best spells fairly frequently don't end combat on round 1 until very high levels. That's because both of you are talking past each other. When Roy talks about ending combat, he means tha...

It takes two and a half minutes to fill a 5' cube - the standard battlemat square - at 20th level using Create Water. Yes, that will drown people if it can be kept together in the cube, but it's not sufficient when it spreads out over an entire floor. If there's a drainage system (which a dungeon sh...

So people used Guns in the real world, NO FUCKING SHIT I'm sorry if the first thought going through my head is that this may JUST MAY not be the real world... And yet... Time, Velocity, Distance all exist in Eclipse phase. The range advantage is dependant on these things: I'm too far away for you t...

what are you talking about, the melee weapons for the most part of have good AP, deal good damage and wether or not you use them shouldn't be decided on rules anyway it should be based on how you want to make your character for example -cammo cloak -speed enhancing drugs -making good use of cover a...

Still, this whole thing wouldn't be so bad if Republicans weren't such hypocrites. When Bush was in office, they went on and on about how it's unpatriotic to criticize the president in any way while the nation was at war. But now that there's a Democrat in the White House, all rules are null and vo...

Long deserved recognition of the thoroughly awful treatment that our nation extended to one of its greatest. Should he have been treated differently then perhaps Britain would have Silicon Valley today.
