I had to take history EVERY year out of primary school. I don't give a damn about the war of 1812, or civil war, except to know the right people won during the civil war. Nothing else really matters about it. Like any war you had the dumb people, and the right people. History is written by the vict...

But anyway, Sacred Cows. What do you guys think of the overall idea of implementing old sacred cows to get rid of newer ones? Not necessary? Earlier in this thread I mentioned that 5E should make steps to superficially pander to the Old Skool gamers. Except that a lot of things the Old Skool gamers...

Yeah, honestly I figure they should just drop the idea of racial stat mods altogether and just set some racial maximums for starting ability scores. So if you really want a 20 in your strength you have to be a half orc or something, but you still have to buy that 20. I'm far more comfortable with b...

Frankensteins: The Creature “ My heart was fashioned to be susceptible of love and sympathy, and when wrenched by misery to vice and hatred, it did not endure the violence of the change without torture such as you cannot even imagine. ” Frankensteins are crafted to be literally new living things. It's a good question. If it's possible, then it's likely that security set down traps and put spikes on all flat surfaces so that pigeons can, at best, give you a moving aerial viewpoint of the area. Lots of occlusion is to be expected as well. They may also employ a small number of cybered vermin h...

Sorry - I had the sim rig and the control rig confused. So - the short version is yes, the image link, sound link, and touch link are all contained in the sim module. And the game, being what it is, requires you to buy an image link to use a smartlink. THe control rig has nothing to do with the sim...

This whole shebang got significantly easier in SR4 so far as I hear. There are two ways to experience the digital universe: AR and VR. So far so simple. You can get your AR fix using all of the Senselink hardware, like Imagelink and Soundlink. You can buy Touchlink clothing, too. That's actually the...

A new annoying question, anyone have any clue what's with the whole catholic school girl fetish? It's basically the intersection of a couple of fetishes, which gives it multi-market appeal. Sometimes it's used as a setting for Girl-on-Girl with the excuse that they're still straight - they're just ...

You pretty much hit the nail on the head there. There are plenty of crazy fuckers running around that would be more then happy to scour our world in nuclear fire because of some crazy religious bullshit. Hopefully the squirrels won't make as much of a mess of things as we have. Who says it'll...

Who the hell cares about downscaling? When I watch a video, I want it in original pixel width or in full screen mode. VLC does both fine. Yes, VLC gets blocky during downsclaing, but I honestly don't give a fuck and can't even understand why anyone would. Downscaling and upscaling are the same thin...

Wow, I take a look at (the latest version of) VLC for the first time in... about a year. They've made progress. Their standard install uses nearest-neighbour for resizing video, which pixellates the output, and I can't find any options to switch it to bicubic interpolation (which is basically the on...

I'd suggest CCCP. MPC HC using CCCP, in fact. It's got pretty much the best playback GUI I can think of, and CCCP has the easiest install and setup I can think of.
