Why mecha?

Simply-put, are there any genuine, non-bullshit reasons for wanting a bipedal (or, for that matter, quadrupedal) war machine (assuming it was feasible and efficient) rather than a wheeled or tracked one? I'm just trying to think of why mecha would be viable in a setting (or for that matter, somethin...

I'm doing something in the spirit of NaNoWriMo, but it's not a novel. Instead, I'm writing a whole game in a month, using an unfamiliar programming language (Clojure, in case anyone cares).

O hai Caelum. I propose an NAP+3, and would like to lay claim to the province on your border with me with the fish people in it. In return, you can have the province with the heavy cavalry and indie archers. Seem good?

I would prefer a hosting interval of at least 30 hours. Semester's about to restart for me again, and boy is it going to be intense...

Also, I'm currently tossing up Jotunheim or Marignon, but I should have my pretender in within the next 12-ish hours. Time to do some testing.

@Mister_Sinister: I don't think anyone's contesting it. I'll be R'lyeh, then. First time playing an aquatic nation in MP. Unless the map sucks for that, I actually haven't looked yet. Maybe I should. No one snatched my second pick, though, so I'm good either way. So DSM, you'll be watching people w...

I second the call for Preacher. It is both amazing and hilarious. Another thing I can recommend is Requiem Vampire Knight . It's written by Pat Mills, and drawn by Olivier Ledroit, which is really a match made in heaven. It is full of the characteristic Pat Mills sense of humour, as well as some rea...

I gotta agree Zinegata - MA Vanheim does appear to be your answer to everything. I also think that they're harder to use properly and more open to being screwed up by a new player than MA Man, but that's a personal thing. I'm kinda OK with either - I agree MA is better for learning on, though, so co...

Hm. I think I'll do something completely stupid. MA-Man, Ermor LA-Midgard I would hella not recommend starting out with MA Ermor. Not that they're bad or anything - you'll just need a crash course in undead-related stuff. MA Man and LA Midgard are both all good, though. So, any preferences on LA or...

Well, we seem to have quite a few players. If we are to do anything, here are my preferences, which we should probably determine *before* anyone creates a game. - Llamaserver hosting, 48 hour interval - MA or LA (had just about enough of EA for now) - Normal settings (with permitted renaming, of cou...

If I were to play a Pathfinder game (I'm not going to, short of being offered cash, and if you're going to pay someone to join your game, might I recommend just hiring a prostitute instead? Indeed, you can even dispense with the game entirely at that point, you have a prostitute) Why would I have s...

OK Cap, first-off, welcome to the most awesome game ever. Before you start, there's a few things to remember. 1) Dom3 has a learning curve shaped like a wall. It's rewarding, but damn frustrating at times. 2) Dom3 Logic is your constant bane. What is Dom3 logic? 'Fuck you, that's why.' 3) PLAY THE T...
