Browsing around wikipedia makes the issue of weapon classifications more confusing, because it looks like the only major diffrence between a side-sword and a longsword is average blade length is 10-30 cm shorter than a longsword and it is used in one hand more often than two hands, although the pomm...

actually, thanks to surface to volume ratios and such, the forests are a bit chilly for elves. also, forests are poor places to live, and inhabited parts of forests have usually been turned into places which are no longer forests, and more resemble plains. yes, even the american indians did that, be...

frankly, i don't know how buffs are a good idea, because you have no idea weather the PCs will be buffed, or the monsters for that matter. so the PCs can hit 60%, 50%, or 40% depending on buff status if they are all +2 buffs and they normally hit 50% of the time. the same goes for the monsters, and ...

Some elves do live in forests, because the average elf has some real levels, and their racial abilities help them deal with living in an environment full of man-eating beasts. people should read entire things before commenting on them We need to reverse that shit. Elves should be the redneck swamp ...

Overall, its fairly interesting. However, this... The solution is that most places aren't really run by powerful forces, but do have enough allies to be protected from raids. is just wrong. It just doesn't work. You need a fairly extensive government involved to actually protect people from raids, ...

note: that bit with her only taking a hit when she fell on sam? that's the only noticeable damage, except to her eyes, she takes EVER according to the book. it even says she is essentially immune to being stabbed by men, and Same only seriously wounded her because she sat down on him. Then she ran o...

Though that is technically true, it is very hard, hence gandalf going up vs. the balrog alone, even with the entire rest of the fellowship standing right behind him. EDIT: I don't know if that is accurate or not, since i can't recall even one other actual decendent of a deity from LoTR, but while ch...

Remember, Sam stabbed a minor deity spider in the stomach. Just because something gets worshiped doesn't make it a god. And if my criteria were worship instead of being the daughter of someone who was able to blind nearly all the other deities and kill the magic trees of elf heaven, you might have ...

alternitive: give the mech a borelauncher/ have the other classes do the sort of cool stuff mentioned by the creator in the back of the book. actually, the book itself mentions several solutions to the mech jockey problem, such as having two seperate teams, one for the mech, one for ground operation...

As there's no objective proof that the Catholic Church has more authority to say what happens after death than, say, I do, that's more of an example of the kind of power that flim-flam can gather. True, but the point was that religions can gain that kind of power even with no objective proof, and K...

K, have you heard of an organization with membership scattered across the world, which launched at least 3 major wars, known as the Catholic Church? That is the kind of power religion can gather. also, if the cleric openly rasies a dead community figure, that basically gives everyone who attempts to...

I've never quite gotten how it is that raising undead is pue evil. I understand where the idea comes from, which is the common religous belief that the corpse's intergrity is essential to the spirit in the afterlife, but DnD does not seem to support that. in fact, in DnD it is common practice to lea...

i feel sorry for people who endure that kind of railroading. the kind i endure amounts to, you go on this adventure because you are members of the military who follow orders, and because i can't be bothered making up the 10^9 things you could potentally do instead (free roaming settled galaxy D20 fu...

Training harder gives them bonus special abilities, so they can channel holy fire through their fists 4/day or spend Ki points to do so. It does not let them punch holes in armor more easily all by itself. So if you can get +1 to your fists from training, it's limited duration. they don't get +1 fla...

1) this is difficult to achieve because you need serious superstrength before they can just drop a building on you and laugh at your pathetic cries for assistance. in the unlikely event that you do, you'll be a guy who does what he pleases until they invent the ability to do somthing to you. then yo...
