Re: Complete Arcane Review

There seems to be some confusion as to if arcane PrC's attached to Warlock increase both Eldritch Blast damage *and* new invocations learned. I think because of the book's table formatting or somesuch. Anyone have any info. on that?

Arcane Trickster - Is it *ever* good?

i'm fully aware of how craptacular the Arcane Trickster PrC is. It's traditional baseline of Wiz5/Rog3 is an exercise in futility to build up from level 1. And even after you get into AT, those first 5-6 levels are still challenging to fit into your party's average power curve.[br][br]my question to...

Re: Summon Monster vs every other spell dealing with monster

The Conjure Ice Beast set of spells from Frostburn has been a real boon to "summoner" type spellslingers. It allows you to have the full selection of monsters from both the summon natural ally and summon monster spell list - albeit with a twist. You even get a cool "Save or Die" ...

Re: The WotC Char. Op. Board - Tell us about your experience

This is sometimes true, but it is also sometimes not true. I can't count the number of times I've looked at a thread asking for help and seen all kinds of bizarre things far outside the scope of what was asked for, book-wise. The board denizens are at fault for this at least as often as the petitio...

Re: Genuinely Broken Things

interesting.[br][br]i wonder what the designers had intended on the average d&d gamer to use the Shades spell for? they must have foreseen or playtested Shades applying to 7th and 8th level Conj (Summ) and Conj (Creat) spells. my guess is they realize that Shades can abuse Trap the Soul (especia...

Fixing Summon Monster spells

In all the years i've played d&d, i've never been a big fan of summon monster spells. And in 3.5, i'm still not.[br][br]I just recently joined a new group who handed me a list of their house rules. Pretty much everything was reasonable, but one thing caught my attention. Summoning spells were on...

Re: Genuinely Broken Things

hi everyone![br][br]First post here, and i like what i see so far![br][br]just curious about your assertion that Shades is broken?[br][br]We used to use it with Major Creation in a broken fashion back in 3.0. Although I thought with Conjuration (Creation), the loophole was fixed.[br][br]So how is Sh...
