Let's be clear. This character had a movement rate of about 70 feet per round. And could throw in some extra stuff to speed himself up. He could outrun horses in full gallop. Yet the thief outruns him. Things like that are bullshit. And sound like a campaign I was part of. The DM seemed to have a p...

My mistake. Even so, you're a party of clerics, so dying won't be any time soon.

Don't know if anyone's said this yet... Turns out clerics have auto-kills. If you have a party of five clerics, anything smaller than Gargantuan that can't fly or teleport can be blocked by four clerics using Knights of Unyielding Valor. Then the fifth cleric just tosses a Blade Barrier on the haple...

So, with Wizard Utility powers and preparation. If you take the Expanded Spellbook feat, does this mean you can cheese your way into preparing and casting three level-appropriate utility spells every day?

I'm going to have to say that I like the idea of deflating currency. And while we're at it, why not make it smaller? Those twenty copper pieces that jingle around in the palm of your hand are now worth a lot more, and easily portable to boot.

Re: 4e Verisimilitude

I agree that flight should be a power gained later on. There's not much progression in the flymancer chain of events. Perhaps they should focus more on hovering just off the ground to increase movement speed rather than "fly as high as a kite all you like".

Re: How much damage will 4,000 bottles of Alchemist's Fire d

1204446466[/unixtime]]Another way of resolving it is generalizing the relation between being hit with a flask of acid (1d6) and full immersion in acid (10d6), to state that full immersion in something does 10x the damage of being splashed with it.[br][br]So however much alchemist's fire you dump on...

How much damage will 4,000 bottles of Alchemist's Fire do?

So, another Shrink Item utility.[br][br]1.) Craft up some Alchemist's Fire. Like, a ton of it: 4,000 times one dose.[br]2.) Put it all into a giant scaled replica of a bottle.[br]3.) Cast Shrink Item.[br]4.) Repeat this process four or five more times.[br]5.) Fly over the countryside and carpet bomb...

Re: Fixing Summon Monster spells

I personally like using the "wall of meat" to distract things or disable traps.

Not to mention the slave labor aspect.

Re: WotC Death and Dying article

This is stupid. Plain and simple.[br][br]Sure, it's nice to have the "I don't go from healthy and fighting to dead in one shot", but the revival methods are dumb. If your HP max is 100, then going from -48 to 25 on a 5% chance is stupidly good. The monster that does about 17 damage on aver...

Re: Bards?

Wait, Skill Focus doesn't stack. So the bonus feat at every even level and having the bonus feat due to one rank in a skill will still only net the +3 bonus.
