Re: Unsorted Material

Do you think the classes might have been more generic, just with lists of abilities that could be chosen from? Similar to True Fiend, Conduit and Fiendish Brute?[br][br]You know, you could have "Animals that bite", "Animals with annoying movement forms", "Aberrations that ar...

Re: Genkotsuken (Shadow Warrior)

You could just reflavour a Cleric or Druid, or perhaps you could do something like this:[br][br]It gets a really small selection of spells. Let us say 5 at 1st level, and 1 (seriously, just one) per level thereafter. New spell levels like Wizards. These can each be used once per encounter, with a st...

And at the same time, you got screwed no matter what you wished for if you didn't lawyer your way through it.

Apparently the first and only trick was to lie and claim that you did indeed roll 18/00 Strength.

Yeah, that's a better way to do it. "Sure, you can hit me, I won't even increase my AC. But you do have to trudge through acidic glue-like fog and set yourself on fire, stepping on razor sharp stones all the while."

Re: Manxome

Thinking very quickly about older Shadowrun stuff (I can't remember, shall we call it second edition?), I'm having trouble thinking of many things from 40K that can't be emulated in it.

Re: Being Good in D&D: this one's for you, K and Frank

I don't know, there are few deities I enjoy playing clerics of, and Loviatar is right at the top. Granted, her name was stolen from a Finnish goddess of... plague, I believe. But still, FR at least has my favourite deity. The only other three I'd give time of day are Ilsensine, Kord and the red-hair...

Re: Manxome

I can picture Norse ninjas. That's pretty cool, and the opposite of stealthy.

As for the 40K assassins, they are indeed awesome. Back when I collected, I had a Callidus, and was going to get the full set of them.

Re: Manxome

Personally, I'd like to see more Nordic stuff. I don't know why, but Barbarian doesn't say to me "Norse Berserker", it says "Uneducated lunatic who lives in the desert, hence wearing only a loincloth, and who possibly wields seven scimitars at once."[br][br]It might help that I w...

If he were actually that worked up, I doubt medicine would be taking the priority.

Probably the last of the three. "A big mess" seems to be their favourite, but I'd like for them to surprise me here.

That combined with Fred Basset being funny this morning suggests that the end is indeed nigh. I'm getting my video camera, to record the meteor hitting the Earth.

For, you know... future... generations...

I really do need to put more thought into these things.

Sigma: Your mileage may vary.[br][br]But for the most part, those who made it into University suddenly could more or less screw around as much as they want (and most seem to intentionally fail a few things, swap majors around and basically delay having to leave and get a job for as long as possible)...

Odd, I could swear curses were [Evil]. Yet Deathwatch IS. Someone's on crack, here, and I don't think it's me.[br][br]Maybe it was just in the Book of Vile Body Piercings, but my groups thought it made sense that cursing someone was evil, because "Spoooooky curses, wooooooo...." (and the a...

If you Bestow a Curse on someone, Detect Evil will actually show them as being [Evil] (because it will pick up the [Evil] effect - the spell, which is sitting on them). If they're a simple peasant, then when the Paladin smites them, how's he to know the Smite failed and they simply died due to havin...

Re: Heads Explode!

It's really handy for me, in that case. I drool over the exact same characters I want to be like. Yet despite that, I still play only as the men in Dynasty Warriors. But for the most part, makes it easy, and makes the entire male cast superfluous for me.[br][br]But I do see where you're coming from....

Precisely! After all, the main person I know who wants male protagonists is a straight female, and it's simply to stare at their arse/prettyboy hair all day.
