Yeah, it's another one of THOSE threads...
Ok, so we have all seen the "how to fix the fighter" thing done to death by now.[br][br]I have a simple suggestion to add to the pile, and so I started this thread to kick the idea around a bit.[br][br]Fighters' skills suck. This is a constant complaint of people who like the class, and th...

Re: Combat Healing, a poll of sorts.
How do you change healing without making the druid and the cleric even more uber powerful? [br][br]I agree that healing is a reactive loser's game, but so what? If your divine spellcaster can't find anything more effective to do in combat than heal the fighter he is not being played very well.[br][b...

Karmic Strike & Special Attacks
I have notices some significant problems with the interactions between Karmic Strike and the various Special Attacks. These principally arise out of the fact that most of special attacks provoke AoO’s when attempted. Of course the right feat will prevent the AoO, but under normal circumstances, thes...

1075521071[/unixtime]]The problem is that the line is entirely inconsistent with the way that Ethereal, Ghost Touch, and Incorporeal function... even under 3.0. That's what I figured too.
What I don't like are the new enhancements that give things like Prismatic strike or paralyzing strike on a critical, since they very clearly favor broad crit threat ranges over deep crit damage.

Actually, I just pulled that pricing off of the ring of protection progression (I was feeling lazy).[br][br]I figure TA's pricing is more "by the book." It doesn't matter what it is, It could be a whetsone (which is more esthetically pleasing), or perhapse a rubber ducky of whoop arse.[br]...

Re: Item Creation Rules and the Education of Thoth Amon
If a magic item heals you at a rate of 1 hp per round (or more like 1d8+1 !), without any intervention on your part, your DM is just asking for trouble. This is on the par with a continuously active, use activated sword of true strike. Yeah, the guidelines say this is a cheep and easy magic item, bu...

Re: Check my math
OK, now how does the math work for blessed weapons? Here is an ability that makes it so that you don't have to confirm the crit.[br][br]This makes a little bit of difference if your chance to hit is great, and a great deal of difference if your chance to hit is small (like on your 4th attack in your...

Re: Item Creation Rules and the Education of Thoth Amon
[br] [br]My games are just as fun, possibly more fun, with the item. I worry less about killing PCs accidentally, it allows us to get right to the action without trooping back to the forest to rest for 22 hours, and it gives clerics a little bit more leeway to smite things instead of being a band-a...

I would never allow a continuously active, use activated healing item. Command word activated, sure, but not use activated.

Re: Inheritance Rules in 3.5 don't work: deal with it!
All this parsing of the rules is a tempust in a teapot. Every DM MUST house rule the polymorph rules, or they will simply overrrun his campaign. This is true even if you are just dealing with the shapechange spell.[br][br]So as Frank said in his title, "Deal with it!" Let's all just go on ...

Re: Suck it.
So what if you just limited the ability to the forms (that meet the other criterion) in the Monster Manual. This would eliminate both the whole template issue, and stop the data mining problem in one fell swoop.[br][br]As a house rule of course.[br][br]It also helps Shapchange a bit, although you co...

Re: Frenzied Berserker Question (CW)
Yes. That is correct. However, having played with a FB in my party once, I found that it was really not much of a limitation. Sure the casters had to bring hold person, and calm emotion spells "just in case," but so long as your will save is BAD enough the party can cope. On the other hand...

I think it was written by the same guy who has been systematically powering up all the trip abilities in the game. It is obviously all about having a hard on for the spiked chain.

Re: Interacting with Figments& Glamers
The frustration that I always have with figments is that my DM's consitantly, and over the course of MANY DM's don't like their plans to be thwarted by illusions. As a result, at most I cause one round of lost actions from the monsters. This sucks ass. I agree with Franks interpretation of things he...

Re: Question for Frank
So in order to avoid shooting myself in the foot as a DM, what it sounds like I should do is just tranform our monk into some type of giant, and dance the kung fu dance with that. This seems the least problematic. I don't even need poly any obj to pull it off.

Ok, I have a new question.[br][br]I am designing an encounter (well 5 actually, but this is the big one) where the party will be fighting a single Monk/kensai who is Polymorphed into another creature (by means of a ring of spell storing provided by the monistary).[br][br]He doesn't need to be a kens...
