Actually, Thetmes got dominate and there are couple other assamites with dominate in this grouping, so you can have some reasonable bleed defense and space in a deck for something else. Rare for assamites in a card game. :P

Sorry for your lost. I'm late here, was kind of busy - unfortunately had to organize two consequent funerals for family members of my own this summer. I hope your son is well after all of this. As about death in general - I think we are fucked here. Western culture is based on Abrahamic myth, in whi...

Holy crap, there is a medical topic at the den! No way I'll lose my time to read it, but I'm sure Frank here stars with his professional knowledge even more brightly than on main topics. Which may be cool except it directly harms people. So as a public service I should try to help fellow roleplayers...

I like how his argument is basically that you can have infinite space because everyone is going to netdeck super hard while the casuals eat shit. This is the definition of MTG, right? Elotar, I know you are new here so I will tell you that when a thread has a "No [UserName]" tha...

The situation is much more fucked up than you think - the only reason this theme was picked up by Russian media was that there is a struggle for "war recovery funding", which now goes outside of standard distribution of budget and is controlled mostly by Kadirov (or group for which he work...

You keep contradicting yourself. Organizing. Checking repeatedly. These are forms of keeping track and do require mental space. They make it easier via organization and make it less likely to miss something by having a routine pattern but it is fucking idiocy to suggest this requires zero attention...

So your argument is keeping track of the board state is easy because you already have a detailed knowledge of all the cards available in all rotations and know correlated cards well enough that if you see a Druge Skeleton of round 1 you're relatively confident that you know the entire deck so you'r...

By definition, I should be unfamiliar with my opponent's deck. If he plays a card on round 7 that interacts with his graveyard, but no other card played up to that point references the graveyard, I didn't have to spend a lot of mental energy keeping track of what ended up in there. Suddenly it beco...

In a relatively recent game of Magic a friend and I were playing a Duel Deck of Elves versus Inventors. We're both experienced players but we weren't super-familiar with the decks because they were pre-generated. We played them quite a number of times, though. First off, we did not ALWAYS play a la...

You don't get the point - if you organize them right and train a habbit of checking this zone each upkeep, than you will not be spending mental capacity on it - so number of cards there will not matter.

The board state is made up of individual cards. The question is how many individual cards (and of what complexity) can be in a board state before players can no longer keep track of it. No, it's not. The board state is something like "My alpha strike will deliver 6 damage pass blocks, opponent...

Do you mean board state? Because you still need to keep track of things like 'Did I already add the lore counter to this saga?' Did I play a land already? Which creatures have summoning sickness?' etc. So no, it is not infinite. You don't need to keep track of any of it - you have just to put all c...

Infinite - you should not keep track of individual cards, you should keep track of a table position.

"About 900,000 gang members lived "within local communities across the country," and about 147,000 were in U.S. prisons or jails in 2009" - this is the demographics you should look at when thinking about Vampire numbers. 99% of Vampire stories are not about elite infiltration spe...

It's funny how easily D&D panic can be recreated by switching some themes.

Even inverted hollow earth not helps to get the point across to kind of sophisticated and knowledgeable audience.

But I think it still was worth an effort to write it.
Should go back to killing orcs.

This is horrifying ... That is the whole point - racism, homophobia and other such things are real tentacle monsters of our days. The point of horror media is not to horrify characters, it's to horrify audience. There is easy way out used in movies - just kill the characters one by one, but it obvi...

My english is not so good, so maybe I've missed something, but I think with racial massacres we are getting to the point. CoC should be scary. Monsters under the sea, black people just because and insanity was scary 100 years ago, now they are not. IMO the scariest thing to the present human is that...
