I think the issue was that people can be honest and totally wrong at the same time. That's certainly true, but I don't think it's the problem here. Want an example of the real problem here? Just look up a couple of replies: Learn English, try again. Oh piss off . Zinegata made a semantic argument b...

Hey, I'm not saying I agreed with any of it. Just things I've heard.

So in this decade how do current edition D&D players talk about lvl 20 fighters matching wizards, is it the same or somehow different now The reality is, they still don't come close and it's really worse due to the lack of options for magic items and abilities to make up for it. However the gen...

What's the content of that 2 mil kickstarter New features for every class, different types of strongholds for classes and their abilities and retainer types, bestiary, warfare rules, a little adventure, and so on. They only wanted $30 for the hardcover too compared to WotC wanting $50 for their boo...

D&D being like Monopoly where the mechanics don't change but you have a Pokemon Monopoly or Animal Crossing Monopoly sounds like a steady strategy The rise of streaming and youtube means the main engagement is people watching professional actors have a Good Time, buying some books, and then wat...

So out of curiosity, I decided to take a look at Winninger's twitter. It was basically dead right up until mid Feb 2019, which is about the time that incident with Mearls and Zak(I'm not familiar with the details) seems to have come to a head, and not too long after that WinningerR @WinningerR · Mar...

I love how D&D official output has been so slow that they could legit fire the head of the department and have nobody even notice for six months. LOL I think that the BG3 video game might also fit in with what Chamomile stated. Apparently Winninger was a senior platform strategist for a while a...

This blog with camera type laser guns, where you can look through the barrel like a camera is neat: http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/sidearmenergy.php So where would be a good location for a heatsink and radiator on a man portable energy gun? The Necromunda Van saar suppression lasers h...

Ok, Paizo has actually confused me now. I understand if you're pushing a new product(pf2e) that no matter how poorly it's doing that's what you want to be promoting. But apparently they had the rise of the runelords pf1e pocket edition on sale for preorder and it went on sale today. Huh? It's not ba...

I have yet to see a house rule or NPC behavior that will successfully incentivize players away from hunting down and killing every single enemy on the battlemap. Enemies who never engage at all and thus never get put on the battlemap will sometimes be allowed to walk away to save table time, but fo...

I don't consider the 15 minute workday to be a problem with this paradigm. The 15 minute workday is an existing problem for which some solutions exist, with various trade-offs. If you aren't applying any of those solutions, then the 15-minute workday is going to be a big problem and this addition w...

I don't see it being super fiddly, it doesn't seem very difficult to bother tracking. The problem I do see with it narratively, is that it reinforces the idea of the 15 minute adventuring day. If everyone feels they need to use these action and second wind points every other encounter, they're going...

I really don't want people going down the rabbit hole of divvying up skills into multiple specializations that can all also be taken in multiple ranks. Such things are a giant pain in the ass when you try to balance out anything more esoteric then firearm form factors--I'm not fond of people boilin...

I have never heard of any modern police or military force that trains individuals with "assault rifles", yet ignores pistol training and doesn't have some sort of regular qualification. Depends what you mean by "ignores". Most British soldiers aren't issued pistols, so aren't tr...

Still, there are also seasoned hunters who can be highly skilled in using rifles, and yet should not be able to use a RPG. Why? Have you seen how simple a basic RPG actually is to use? The Russian RPG-7 takes little training or effort, it's about as point and click as you can get. Now other factors...

See this is why I assumed Advantage, Immune for 24 hr for 10 minutes is silly. But getting to roll twice but take better for 10 minutes makes sense. I don't believe they're retarded enough to have actually meant immune for 24hr for 10min, but this really does show how terrible they are at conveying...

Another absurd example of Paizo's lack of having a real editor would be their choice of wording on the red cap stat block. WTF does "bolster" mean? Oh, in this context it's supposed to mean immune... so why not just say "immune"? Someone at Paizo needs to hide the thesaurus. Are...

Reading the blog posts, first things I remember is it appearing to nerf the alchemist for no particular reason and the fact that Ogres now it at +10 to-hit. Wizards look pretty much the same, which is both surprising and infuriating given how much other classes apparently have. The only things that...

Oh, I'm entirely willing to make mandatory character arcs. If we assume everyone going the brute force route has anger management issues, I'm happy with that. And "going full Den" is why I'm posting this here. This whole thing is predicated on the realization that tying all the elements o...
