Yeah, I'm so dumb for thinking the virus is fake.

Prove to yourself it's real. Just try. Find the virus, find the statistics. They look like they are there, but they're not. It's all fake. But, you're all sucking on Satan's teet to hard to see it.

Is it so hard to believe that the same people who said the virus was harmless, then was going to kill 2 million americans, and then 60,000 americans could be lying about fucking ALL of it? You think Trump doesn't understand propaganda and information warfare? Every part of this is hilarious if you ...

You are all full of shit. The coronavirus is 100% a media psyop hoax. They're just taking flu statistics and moving them over to "covid". They've got the whole world fooled. Trump knows, he just wont play into their hand, they want him to go to war with China over a fairy tale. They, just ...

I'm going to stay with the normal CR guidelines. Classes will go to 10, no prestige classes. As for encounters a day, is there any advantage to 3e's "4 encounters a day" thing or would it be better to make it 1 encounter per day? So those on daily schedules don't have to have lots of spell...

Okay, so cut the game off at 10, and potentially add domain level classes. And, make the standard encounter: 4 PCs vs 4 Monsters with CR equal to their level Then, adjust the PCs to be more beefy. For skills, probably it's best to do it like PF and make it a binary choice, and then unlike PF give ou...

Hm, would it make sense to cap it at a level before 10, and just accept that the game stops working beyond that point, and just write all the classes to go up to that limit. Like maybe make it an e6 type hack?

Hacking 3e DnD

Okay so I’ve been trying to put together a bunch of tome like classes for 3e dnd, but I’m trying to set the balance point to a fair level somewhere below wizard level. My design goals are: Use the 3e and 3.5e monster manuals Use as much as of 3e that works, but throw out all the old classes Classplo...

I think there are far more class concepts than novel resource schedules. Some should share: for player familiarity, exploring the design space from a different angle, and the fact that good resource mechanics are difficult to design.

The Adventurer's Almanac wrote:What's wrong with a Cleric where the only spells you get are domain spells?
Because at the point where you're writing a class the transforms into other classes, you might as well just write those classes, because they'll be more unique and easier for the player.

The way I see it the best way to go is with 10HP and an LMSD conversion. For instance, if you rolled 3d6 + Str Mod + Attack Bonus vs 5 + Str Mod + Toughness. 0-3 = 1 HP 4-7 = 3 HP 8-11 = 6 HP 12+ = 10 HP With equal mods this gives you a nice spread of 1.85% chance of none or 10 damage, 24.07% chance...

I guess my question is too ambiguous. Do tiers need to be seperated by leadership? My idea was that when the stuff started to get crazy with 4th level spells, you could jump into a better concept. Maybe that doesn't work. What levels do people actually play that I should focus my homebrew "Tome...

If you were designing a 3e classplosion hack with tiered classes, what would be the ideal levels to divide the playspace into? (Throwing out all the old classes) I was thinking probably 1-6, 6-12, and then 13-20. That way it lines up with vancian casting. But would 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20 be better?

The rogue isn't just good at mundane skills, they're above average sneaky, and they know how to use their subtlety to their advantage. Granted, the concept expires around "level 5", that wouldn't be a problem if your system made them change to a class with more phlebotinum at level 6. Like...

Nope, High DC things just give you a reason to try and game the modifiers on your skills, which can be broken to hell and back. Ideally they'd be designed to make some sense on the RNG, in which case you couldn't have +texas mods.

I don't think this really works. The problem is in the structure of the classes, not the skill system. The skill system is meant to simulate things that people do and not produce "level appropriate" abilities. If you want a class to have these abilities, they must be written into the class.

Deaddm: Yeah, I think you have a good point. 2d10 does seem to be the sweet spot when it comes to curved RNGs. 3d6 gives a more clustered curve, but it's harder to calculate and it may be too deterministic. And, yeah this thread derailed a bit from the title, but things evolve. I don't think a flat ...
