Metagaming accusations used as a club. I recall playing a level 7 dwarf fighter in AD&D (2nd edition I think-it was 25 years ago). We were being attacked and I suggested that the wizard could throw a fireball. The DM (as well as a couple of the other players) sneered at me and he asked how my ch...

I think Creation originally had twice the land area of Earth, but with a much smaller ocean area.

I guess I'm just amazed at the audacity- I glanced at the Second Edition playbooks and didn't see anything different from the one I had seen for First Edition. Perhaps there are subtle differences that have escaped me. If character creation and the basic resolution system are the same I'm not sure w...

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/22 ... nd-edition

WTF is there to possibly say in a new edition-wasn't the First Edition simply a game of "Roll dice, Game Master either fucks you over or makes you describe how you get fucked over"?

That's the default ratio. Obviously it varies depending on the quantity and quality of drugs available to the writers at the time. I recall the Dark Ages book "explaining" that the vampire population in 1197 has diluted down to the 12th generation (in a game world where the vampire populat...

There was a ritual that let a group all benefit from diablerizing a vampire instead of just one character. Thaumaturgy could tell the user the clan/bloodline and generation of the target, so if your generation got more powerful anyone who had used it on you would know what you had been up to. I reca...

Cows are 5-6 blood points (depending on which edition). Still not great since you have to drain the whole cow. Talk about feeling bloated...

I had to laugh at Clone. One clone will have your Attributes, but lowered by one. Two clones have your Attributes lowered by two, etc to a minimum of one. So even the character with 5 Appearance will have four hideous clones, which makes me wonder if the writer knew what clone meant, at least in sup...

I realize this thread is ancient but I found a quote from Greg Stolze that proves what several posters mentioned. He didn't do any sort of math in coming up with his One Roll Engine- he designed it by 'instinct'. His was the last message in the thread. http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?381269-ORE-...
