I got into good testing practices - my homebrew became significantly more rigorously tested as a result. Where exactly might one find these practices? I can't give you a direct link that's really applicable, but basically adopting the idea of Unit Testing - that you should be able to run the same t...

This decade: I found this forum - my homebrew improved heavily as a direct result. I got into good testing practices - my homebrew became significantly more rigorously tested as a result. I got into Agile development habits - my homebrew releases became significantly less painful. I bought a house, ...

No fault, but time for 'the talk' - what about the game is switching them off to the extent that they're needing to be entertained during their hobby time?

That's usually the root cause, work on that, rather than fucking about blaming people.

Wounds can either go onto Offence or Defence, attacker's choice. So, kneecapping people to slow 'em down and make them easier to hit, hand/arm/shoulder shots to blunt their attack, and body/headshots to put out of the fight (which is harder to do, ofc, and also blunts attacks). Behaviour I've seen t...

Great story, Iduno - what did you actually do when the mother in question got close? I'm obviously filling in the blanks in my head, but would love to know :).

Sounds like a great halloween, either way :).

Shit, sorry folks. I goofed the thread then went on holiday for a week and came back to a different job where I have actual work to do, so hadn't checked this screen for a fortnight. Thanks for un-pooching it on my behalf, fbmf :).

I've toyed with the idea of just making that a character class. Broadly good defenses (so they're probably the last one to die before a party wipe), mediocre at everything else, bullshit crisis-mode powers that activate when their friends are all unconscious. Then you can push your balance a little...

I'm sorry to be that guy, but as a Guard player (fuck off with your 'Astra Militarum' bullshit. Yes, I know that I'm the worst type of player to play against :D.), I have to answer that no, it's never point-efficient to plink tanks to death with lasguns. That's why we have lasCANNONS :D. But yeah, h...

Yeah, attack roll gives you a (small) margin of success. You then take your damage, subtract their armour, and multiply the remainder by the margin, and pass the target that number. They then compare it to their 'wound threshold' to see how big a wound they take (think a little bit like Shadowrun LM...

IKR :D. That's actually a direct quote - the original post with the thought experiment was missing the 'feels like' too, and agreed, it's too on-point to amend. One day I want to figure out what goes there, but for now I'm working on the other bits and using MTP with rolls to give prompts, and hopin...

I didn't bookmark the thread, but IIRC it's one of the Asymmetric Threat threads - the relevant list of bullet points (which I did totally crib off with) is: • Infiltration -The infiltration minigame is about bypassing security systems. Sneaking, hacking, lockpicking, and so on. Ideally this should ...

Yeah, 'disk not in disk manager' is generally either a bad disk or a bad connection. Obvious suggestion - make sure everything you can't bear to lose is backed up to another disk. Might be worth changing the motherboard socket you're plugging the disk into, as well.

G'luck!

Agreed with the last 2 posts - owner picks, or treating them as squad upgrades not tied to a single plastic dudesman both work well. squad upgrades is technically faster there, 'cos there's literally no decision point. IMX, most mini wargamers of the 40k tradition would find that weird, though, beca...
