What are some good choices to make when creating a magician in 4A so that the character can contribute to the party without making them feel small in the pants?

The point is you didn't answer the question. Are you fatigued of not getting to play because you really want to play? Are you fatigued because designing encounters is hard? Are you fatigued because you've used up all the plots you thought of and now you have to think up more? Are you fatigued becau...

What fatigues me specifically is being the only person to DM for my group for about close to a year now, and doing so every single week. Nobody offers to switch in and run even like a short little side thing except for one guy who will only do it if its 5E. My problems with that are twofold: 1. It's...

MC Fatigue

I'm beginning to feel run down over constantly being the only person in my group to run games anymore. Only 1 other person has run more than one game, but he's steadfastly refusing to run anything in the immediate future. So I put the question to the Den in general- how do you deal with MC fatigue? ...

As much as I would love to see you dig into SPEHSS MEHREENS, I think the wait will make it worth it. I've not seen anyone use Tau since about 5th edition in my FLGS, so they get my vote for next.

I mean, I feel like people could probably have played in a game with that specific ruleset by now, especially since FFG had the beta rules out for much longer than a week.

The group I play with was mostly interested in Force and Destiny, so I was hoping someone had given that specifically a try and could weigh in on the discussion.

That said, reading through those other threads have been... troubling.

Star Wars: Force and Destiny

Sooooo... My FLGS just recently got in a whole bunch of Fantasy Flight Games stuff, including the three different rulebooks to their Star Wars RPG. Being on the hypetrain for the upcoming 7th Star Wars movie, my gaming group is interested in buying it. Does anyone know if it's honestly any good? And...

Jesus Christ Malak, either shut up about this garbage or post in your own thread. I asked for opinions on various APs, not a dissertation on why a crazy person thinks transgender people are disgusting and also mentally ill, thereby implying all mentally ill people are disgusting.

Aaaaaaaalright, I think that's enough off topic insane ramblings about a relatively unimportant NPC and their genitals.

Any thoughts on Skulls and Shackles, or Jade Regent? Those have been pretty absent in the discussions thus far.

I hear Kingmaker is the most outdoor oriented of all the paths, so I assume that Mounted Combat is probably at its best there.

Adventure Paths that don't suck?

So the general consensus on most APs I see in the various review threads are that they're mostly terrible with occasional highlights. Which got me to wondering- is there any APs that the Den actually likes, taken as an overall? Because I've been thinking about running something out of the box for a ...

When you're a high enough level, abusing the crap out of Dazing Spell Metamagic can let you both blast and control the battlefield at the same time. As for the stronger class types, no idea. I'd be interested to see where certain bloodline Sorcerers stack up against the 3 classes you mentioned though.

Best Spells to plunder

So I've been wondering this for a while now- with the prevalence of spell plundering present nowadays in Pathfinder, as well as the Bard in 5E DnD, what spells are actually worth stealing onto a different class' spell list? Are there any Cleric spells with taking as a Wizard? Any Druid spells worth ...

Not that I'm particularly well suited to discussing entire rules systems, but IMO any stealth system that can't be resolved in 2-3 dice rolls MAX between the player and the DM would make me pretty annoyed. Time consumption on something like this should be kept to a minimum, not abstracted out to nea...

Vampire: What am I getting into?

So I've been invited to join in to a Vampire game over the next couple of weeks using the NWoD rules. Having 0 experience with the setting or the rules of both NWoD and OWoD, what am I getting myself into, and what kind of pitholes can I expect to avoid at character creation and in play?

Yeah, or at least that's what I remembered happening in our game. The only guy in our group who ever ran out of edge had a edge 1 elf or dwarf or something and he had to burn edge after using it in one encounter, but everyone with even 3 edge were struggling to use it all every day. If you have a de...
