Have you tried MLP:FIM yet? I've lived in Vietnam for the past 10 years so I am a wee bit behind on all things media related. I tend to avoid anything which will result in me being harangued for tie in toys (I still haven't forgiven my mother for showing him Cars )I'll have to see if I can find a s...

On a note of new stuff to watch the Wackowski's Sense8 S1 was pretty good though it has the kind of plot that you dread will go down the rabbit hole as Heroes or Lost did

Is this 3-year-old friendly? My spawn and I are nearly through Avatar and I'm looking for something else to watch with him that doesn't make me wish I had lobotomised myself by the time it's finished.

Adrian Tchaikosky's shadow of the apt series does a good job of all races recognizable has human but have all have adopted insect-like traits. If that is a novelization of some guys TTRPG sessions, I don't know what is.

Consider screen size. I've had both 7in and 10in and while I liked the 7 for portability (it fit in my pocket nicely) the larger screen is better for rpg book formats IMO.

After watching DaVinci's Demons I got an idea for 7th Sea that would throw the who metaplot on its back, slowly eviscerate it, and then skull fuck it for good measure. Unfortunately it would require playing roll and keep again and I just don't think I can put myself through that pain and suffering a...

@Orion: So, what you're saying is, PCs should have WARF saves , while NPCs should have WARF defenses , with the conversion set to mathematically equivalent numbers? That was my next thought, as well. If you want to keep everything the same for the players, have them roll everything, both attacks an...

Would it be worth considering going back to a BECMI model where you're initial offering is simply the heroic tier and focuses on that level of game play, while the paragon tier gets released later and can focus on how that game level plays differently? It would certainly provide the benefit of givin...

AncientH: There is a thing in the HIV/AIDS section where they talk about how African men blame women for HIV and think sleeping with a virgin will cure it. That's pretty bad, but pretty par for the "I heard it on the internet" course. When I was in South-Eastern Africa during 2002-3 that ...

I've been having the same problem trying to find an interesting CRPG/MMO. Every time I try a new one I get bored before I actually get to the point i can do anything cool. While they don't have to be super powered, I want 4-6 distinctly different options a can go with out of the gate even if they w...

Need a new Multiplayer RPG (not necessarily massively)

I'm in the market for something I can play with my friends (4-6 of us usually) in 4-6 hour blasts that can also be played solo and has a certain amount of replayability. We've been playing DDO for the past few years and like its gameplay (semi active combat/none of this tab 1-2-3-4 nonsense, varied ...

A fun trick I discovered during a siege was jumping off the wall and moving behind the enemy forces fighting yours and pummeling them with a maul. Got so many captures that way.

What would constitute an "improvement" to 3.x? There needs to be more shit to do at low levels : The vast majority of games start at level 1. And this is where the game is at its most boring. There's some genuine excitement to be had like a lucky orc critical completely swinging the tide ...

I think the mechanics of how personality disadvantages worked are okay. They were a flat roll based on severity of the disadvantage to resist the perscribed behavior. So moderate lecherousy meant you had to try to hit on the queen if you under an 11 (or something like that). No stat could modify the...

I've been playing DDO for about 4 years and the thing that has been annoying me this past 1.5 years is their new epic content is nowhere near feeling epic. I'm in agreement that the man in question's behavior is not inherently wrong, it would certainly match all criteria of bad judgement. Unfortunately Watson's telling of the encounter is not very specific as to where this guy came from but regardless of how you cut it, it was not the appropriate actio...

You could factor in carrying capacity. The stronger a character, the more armor they can carry. Figuring out stealth penalties after that is easy. This would get the exact opposite of what the OP wants though. If you let strong guys wear their heavy armor without penalties, the heavy armor wearers ...
