the kingdom minigame can be put on auto if you don't care for it. this used to cause a gamebreaking bug, but it has been fixed for a while now.

i'm not sure if a ww1-manual is the best way of examining surprise combat situations. i assume trench-warfare featured few ambush-situations. ;) this one might be better suited to the task: https://books.google.at/books?id=_-sIAQAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&hl=de#v=onepage&q&f=false it...

Doesn't the Oldenhaller Contract link to the Enemy Within somehow? That's probably why I was confused. tew is mentioned at the end of the oldenhaller contract, but it's just a plug. the adventure is not actually part of the campaign, though many did link them. tew features followers of most of the ...

if you want to look at more recent games, star wars legion uses a similar system. it's arguably be the most important subsystem in the game.

warpath from mantic as well, though it's been a while and i can't remember specifics.

brute and scoundrel have good damage output, you might be playing something wrong if you are having trouble killing stuff. the tinkerer is considered weak by many, but certainly playable. in gloomhaven most of the time offense is the best defense, which makes the tinkerer weak in the beginning, caus...

New to DnD at least. And extremely underutilized for it. Seriously, eight guilds available, but Mearls and co. (Who even is left, Perkins and Crawford?) could only do three of them? It’s not like any of them are even difficult to think of ideas for, each having a general theme that can be related t...

I don't know what's up with Valerie. Her first companion quest never fired for me and I don't use her in my party. you're supposed to get a letter about her and if i am not mistaken there is a window of only a few days to receive it. if you are out of town and don't get back in time you only get a ...

the central argument from my side. "You" aren't attacking someone when launching an arrow or throwing a flask indeed. when you are attacking you are not actually attacking. makes sense. it's not "you" making the attack, it is... someone else? something else? the thrown object ma...

i also believe that there is some confusion about how he spell is supposed to be understood in this context. but for me there's one simple way to find out which interpretation is more likely. it is looking at the spell description. there's a 20% chance for attacks to miss while blinking. there are n...

i see.

we agree that the spell effect ends on the object once no longer attached to the caster.

what exactly, in your own words, is the effect of the spell "blink"?

But Blink doesn't leave you on the Ethereal Plane. It never ever does that. i never said it did. stop debating your own strawmen please. the caster will never be left on the ethereal plane. objects he brought with him might though. this is obvious once you accept what blink actually does. you seem ...

the object is let go. it ceases to be affected by a spell that allows it to "blink" between planes. because it is no longer affected by said spell it is stuck on the plane it is let go on. i don't see any reason to assume that the object in question somehow aquires the ability to change pl...

i'm not sure how your question makes any sense, cause as far as i remember, there's no "getting kicked out of the game because of a dark side-threshold" and i don't think there ever was. maybe you are confusing ffg 's with another star wars-rpg's set of rules? dark and light side threshold...

it should say "any hits are resolved against the grot", cause that's what the tactic "grot shield" is clearly supposed to do (use the grot as a shield, d'uh). as written the "attack" is resolved against the grot, which leads to the stupidity ograbattle pointed out. prob...

because the number of unreported cases is incredibly high in this field, there can only ever be an estimation of the actual numbers. "1 in 5" is an estimation of actual rape victims, if you add other forms of sexual assault or harassment the numbers would be substantially higher. this migh...

I'd probably run with 6-12, depending on how many classes I ported over and which get combined. Do you level in the game, or does "level" only matter relative to who you're fighting (mooks vs bosses)? Does the game support gaining stats to make you better at shooting, getting stronger, or...

Looking Feng Shui up on Wikipedia, it looks like there are two editions, and the second one came out in 2015. Does anyone have any input on that? Would just the core book (of either edition) be good enough for what I want to do here? 2nd edition is the one i am talking about. as far as i can tell i...

Tl;Dr: Feng Shui would take a bit of massaging, but is a good fit for the frenetic combat involving guns, melee and odd powers of Borderlands. It is a horrible fit for modeling the equipment subsystems of Borderlands. The more I'm hearing about it, the more interesting it sounds. I don't want to tr...

feng shui has been mentioned and i would put in another vote for it, as it seems to be a perfect fit. converting borderlands classes into feng shui should be extremely easy and the leveling system can be perfectly simulated by schticks. feng shui combat is fast paced and actionpacked. the game focus...

one god beats all the other gods somehow, reshaping the world according to their vision. works best with evil gods obviously, but a neutral one might work. depending on the god, this would have different results. some examples from the forgottem realms: talos' world is always ravaged by storms, shar...
