The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. If his prose wasn't so evocative I probably wouldn't like this book very much.

Do you have a twitter feed or a Facebook fan page? If so, could you post the links? It would make it easier to follow your work once this thread gets pushed off the first page.

It would seem that the human race is in fact getting smarter and better educated which, ironically enough, may end up being our undoing anyway, since we can be rather cocky. That being said, the whole "people are getting dumber" thing might be attributed to the vapid forms of entertainment...

I recently read a novel called The Tale of Halcyon Crane by Wendy Webb. It was one of the most well written, amazing Gothic ghost stories I'd ever read. Except for the ending. The entire novel is a massive build-up to a confrontation with a terrifying foe only to have the whole thing resolved in a p...

Just finished The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan. It's basically a zombie apocalypse story... except with deranged crackhead vampires instead of zombies. I will likely be reading The Seven Basic Plots by Christopher Booker next.

I like characters to change and grow over time. It's one of the reasons I don't like writing up character backgrounds anymore. For me a large part of roleplaying is also having clearly defined hopes, dreams, fears and goals for characters. I find proactive PCs both fun to play and MC for, since it c...

Kaelik, what gave him away? The fact that he posts on BG under the exact same username with the exact same avatar? Clark Kent was on to something. You should photoshop some glasses and a slightly different hairdo onto your avatar, Juton.

I'd say that Roissy and most practitioners of game have a great and enduring love for women. There's a reason they put a lot of effort into learning how to maximise their success with them after all. Power trip. No matter what they say and how they define their marketability, Roissy and crew are th...

Sabs - It requires a very, very high level of being turned on and gallons of lubrication. It's... different. Personally, I'm not big on vibrators - they numb me more than they excite, but like I said - it was strange enough that I wanted to try, and you can always turn them off. Sort of like stimul...

If you are in a place playing music, wait for a song you hate to come on and start lamenting it. One of two things will happen: They'll either agree and commiserate or they'll not agree (in which case you probably wouldn't have had a good time together anyway). If you disagree in a polite, non conf...

well but he's not the previous boyfriend. He's the current boyfriend, and Ubernoob is the Other Man. She has been pretty explicit about the fact that she doesn't have a boyfriend. Fair enough. My latent misanthropy causes me to assume the worst about people. As long as everyone is being honest with...

Maxus' (is it Maxus's? Opinion seems to be sharply divided on that shit) advice is both useful and hilarious. So is everyone else's. Another good way of meeting people is joining clubs involving things you're interested in. That way you're meeting people you have some common ground with. Josh and Ma...

Finished American Psycho . It was... excruciating. I've heard it was more graphic than the movie, but I didn't know anything beyond that. What was it that made it so terrible? As a way of satirizing the vapidity of '80s yuppies, Mr. Ellis spent pages upon pages describing peoples' clothing, persona...
