The real reason to have all those weapon skills is that Criminal and Doctor start with Small Blades and knife people, Mage starts with Staff/Spear and never uses them, Witcher starts with Swordsmanship and swords people, Man at Arms gets any 5 and never levels up 4, and Bard, Craftsman, Merchant and...

Thanks. Starting new Job at 11.19.2018 for roughly double pay and 2 more days of holiday. It will be pretty damn hard because i will be going from 35 hours a week to basically 45 hours a week (8 hours work and 1 hour break every day) and also i will need to try and survive early shifts that start a...

At a base 13 you can swing an axe with enough skill to match professional soldiers. At a base 16 you can rival hardened veterans in melee combat. This is a really weird way to phrase things. Why not just say that professional soldiers have base 13 and hardened veterans have base 16? Why do this wei...

So what is the main selling point of an actual mid-budget Witcher tabletop RPG like this? I've played the first two games, and I enjoyed them, and I imagine I'll enjoy the third when I play it. But I couldn't tell you a single thing about the setting or the magic at this point. Do people have a gen...

Jesus, this is basically Cyberpunk 2020 so far. Ref and Int, BOD for survival, and botches on a 1 in combat leads to retarded shit like shooting yourself in the ass. Speaking as an amateur designer - do I need to develop the sad condition of being TOTALLY FUCKING UNABLE to learn from my mistakes in...

You've made Werewolves into a race of superior people, and one which happens to have no Africans in it. That's really fucked up. Silent Striders are African. Going by demographics/stereotypes: * Silver Fangs are deranged slavs * Shadow Lords are treacherous slavs * Silent Striders are African and M...

I think the secret is that Larian Studios is Belgian, and as such they have no connections to the Silicon Valley CRPG/TTRPG clique, so there's no one around to give them the "common sense advice" that they need to publish Baldur's Gate clones or else they'll wind up the next Troika. Kingm...

BTW, Flask Avengers are back: Sneak attack works with alchemist flasks like acid or alchemist's fire. Haven't tried Bombs yet, but will test soon. When fighting Viscount who has 35 AC (27 touch AC) I found this out. Sneak Attacks works with anything that requires an attack roll, which includes all ...

So now the game is actually out. It's good. It's super buggy, so I recommend waiting until November to play it (there's a massive patch planned for October 22nd), but it's probably my favorite RPG of the year. Certainly more fun than Deadfire.

White Wolf would occasionally try to get you to play an "out of the box" character, and it was always some stupid shit like a Giovanni that didn't take any points in Necromancy and through all their freebie points into being rich To be fair - that's not a stupid Giovanni. That's a smart G...

If you were doing vampire today, Schrecknet would be part of the Dark Web and you'd have vampires trying to score blood and swapping Thaumaturgy rituals for bitcoins like assholes, and the Camarilla would have bots in place to keep idiot neonates from doing stupid shit with eBay... So how wouls you guys mash up VtM and cyberpunk (not necessarily Cyberpunk)? What would be good ideas for the setting and good adventure plothooks? I was thinking about running Cyberpunk VtM recently, but never got past the drawing board.

Aegis Kai Doru are definitely referenced in some book (possibly Guardians of the Veil?) and they are basically just dupes some mage in ye olde times tasked with gathering +1 swords for him. The mage died of old age but Aegis is still around, still gathering +1 swords.

Those relic weapon people or the emotional void people from nMage? Weirdly enough - no. The relic weapon people are the Aegis Kai Doru, and they are a playable compact in nHunter. Or so I assume. Could be that you are talking about completely unrelated relic weapon people. Of course there's still a...

https://i.imgur.com/Tk7t6Dl.jpg I have two issues with this: 1. "Nosferatu" is an actual movie in WoD. The Second Inquisition should not be retarded and should realize what they misheard as "Nosferat" 2. Apparently the alphabet soup cares more for the poor people that hang out w...

The cybervamps thing was a magazine-article thought-experiment crossover with Cyberpunk 2020. I found a copy, so I'm going to forward it to Frank & AH for an OSSR. Honestly, I was disappointed how little the assumptions changed. My take would have been that the Masquerade was completely obsolet...

And then on top of that, the drawbacks on vampires are extremely harsh and they never actually put a lot of thought into how any of the vampires were remotely playable. If you decide that you want to make "feeding" a big part of the game, don't you think you should make your game in a way...

It'd be perfectly fine if they went for a narrative approach a-la FATE and said that Rouse Checks bring closer the narrative moment when your vampire has to actively feed on-screen. That your vampires have schroedinger's blood pools and passively replenish it until you fail enough Rouse Checks to ne...

V5 combined Blood Potency and generations. Your true power stat is now Blood Potency which goes 0 (thin-blood) to 10 (Antediluvians) and it increases as you grow older spend XP on it. But you also have your Generation which acts as the minimum Blood Potency. Various 4th-5th gens can't ever be below ...
