I asked Joseph Goodman how Tannanliel (the Elf Wanking Engine) got made by an archmage, and he said the archmage has some divinations specifically for mech design. Yeah. ....w-what? Okay, well, I guess I'm not super crazy at least. The book is still interesting as a setting, as long as you don't lo...

I'm not saying that cheesing out skills isn't hard. That's pretty much a given, and a topic we've heard a lot about. All I'm saying is it's a bit....unreasonable? I guess they are "texas$" huge. As an aside, the rules for taking 10/20 say that that it takes 10 times or 20 times as long. th...

Alright so speaking of cities, how the fuck are you supposed to make city mechs? I get the rules for them. make a mech, but bigger. The problem I see is the craft(mechcraft) DC is like in the 60s, or higher. What the fuck? And there's one definitely statted out in the table of contents. "the co...

I would feel very proud of the Pathfinder staff if they even produced a single warrior class/book/prestige class that tried to bridge the power gap a-la Book of 9 Swords. Even showing they understand the problem at all and making an attempt, even a failed attempt, to address it would be a sign of s...

Is there a reason you picked 4? Because e6 is a thing. You might want to start there for general issues. For example, resurrection type magic is completely out of hands of mortals, so you'll have to go on some sort of epic quest to revive the king if he's slewn by a group of assassins because the ki...

It looks like Cordell and Monte are doing an AMA on reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1pjs7d/we_are_bruce_cordell_monte_cook_and_shanna/ Looking through their responses, I don't know what kind of questions they were expecting to answer. They're pretty much saying things that are already ...

Old comment, but: Getting into MT 4 levels early is still probably weaker than straight wizard / cleric IMHO. Disadvantages you need multiple attributes (lower dcs, less bonus spells) you'll always be a spell level behind, lower caster level checks (spell resistance, concentration etc.) less high l...

As an aside while I'm thinking about this, has anyone looked at that "NPC Codex" book at all? My new DM friend pretty much TPKed us while this one dude in in on page 165. He's a CR7 sorcerer. and he has 4 phantasmal killers a day with a DC of 21. While this isn't an outright death in most ...

Speaking of hidden changes, Eldritch Knight and Mystic Theurge can be entered a lot earlier now. Here's the ruling: http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1fm#v5748eaic9qow So you can go Fighter 1/Scryer Wizard 1/Eldritch Knight +. This is actually a positive change, but if you read the ruling it doe...

I don't know if it's comprehensive, but there is a free conversion guide: http://paizo.com/products/btpy89m6?Pathfinder-Roleplaying-Game-Conversion-Guide ...Kinda. It was helpful, but I was hoping they'd include some of the fiddly bit changes. Like the temp bonus math change thing. Additionally: Th...

Has anyone tried to make a compilation of everything that's changed? Or is "frank's reasons why pf is bad" the closest thing we got to that?

Does the warlord's Gambit system seriously need penalties for failure? Is the wasting of a full turn, and additionally not recovering your maneuvers, not enough? It seriously feels like someone liked critical failures way too much, and had to bake it in to this class. Having said that, take the know...

So your +2 to parry means your main gauche can also be used to parry giant crab claws away. Disarming can just be something related to parrying, like "if you parry by X, you disarmed the dude! If it's a natural weapon then they are inconvenienced in some way" some inconvience like an AoO?...

It seems like it might be worth trying. However, I think you'd need to change the "1 hp" thing. Going against one boss monster where the PC will get another turn before being stabbed again, it works fine. But against several foes, you get the "3E Harm" thing - foe #1 blasts away...
