I read The Intercept, NY Times, Washington Post (when the stench of neoliberalism isn't overwhelming), Fortune, WSJ, Jacobin...Sometimes alternet, but there are a lot wingbats and reposts from other sites on there. Otherwise, the London Review of Books and the New York Review of Books as well - bril...

That is about as useful a question as 'Why does anyone do anything.' There are a multitude of reasons. Personally, I like playing Shadowrun orks because they look cool and have a cool street culture I identify with. I imagine that's a relatively common reason for people playing non-human characters.

Maybe for the same reason they want to play a wizard in a fantasy world instead of a guy who is somewhat smart and reads books a lot? Who cares, it's their fantasy.

I like playing, in order of decreasing like:

1. Half-elf
2. Half-dragons
3. Elf
4. Human
5. Full dragons
6. Human variants (planetouched, etc.)
7. Elf variants (all the elf types)
8. Fae (Human-sized versions like sidhe, not tiny like faeries)
9. Shadowrun orks
10. Special snowflakes

Let's stay. Clapper doesn't seem like a bad chap, all things considered, but by golly his plan sounds absolutely horrendous.

There really isn't any reason to not play a Mystad in 5th, so you should just do that. See if there are rules interactions you can play with immediately to make your GM hate you, like 'LOL CAN I HAVE A SPIRIT POSSESS MY MAN THONG' and 'WHAT IF ITS ALSO A TRUCK'

Our intrepid Dick Castle is a also a full-fledged citizen of Glorious Britianna, and after the simply ghastly affair with the knife and the corpse and such, I think it'd be a brilliant moment to quaff a pint. For the nerves, you understand. But as apparently that's not a choice, which makes the voic...

Clapper seems suspicious, but since that would be too obvious...also, a Scot policeman is probably a good judge of situations. Plus a respected true crime novelist would never turn down the chance to star in his very own murder mystery. Also I vote the character be named 'Richard Castle.' Let's stay...

As much as I love Star Trek (and I love Star Trek), klingon vampire story just sounds like a continous slug of brawls and more brawls. At least you can invent bloodwine with actual Earther blood.

As a GM, I can say that I certainly have no problem with someone playing a thematic and genre appropriate rigger in a walkersuit.

Anecdotally, I was talking to a friend back in Virginia, who says that he was more or less forced to buy the 5e books because no one plays anything else anymore. (At least not in W&M, Harrisonburg, or VCU.)

I'm confused by what you're objecting to here, Kaebae. The implication that gamergators and our own resident racists and biased fucks, are, well, racist fucks?

I haven't checked in on this thread, but have our resident reactionaries and Gamergators threadshat this thread into oblivion yet for 'How dare you involve non-white straight male protagonists'? Or is this like, a reasoned discussion about diversity in video games on the internet? Because if it is, ...

The Scion review really traumatised you with it's half-written badness, didn't it? Now even other bad games by WW give flashbacks. Interestingly (I lied, it isn't interesting), anyone who runs Scion just sort of assumes it actually works just like Exalted. Including "No you cannot reduce the a...

Game Report: New Year Shadowrunning Redux

So I meant to do one of these a long time ago, but as my Skype Shadowrun group, consisting of myself, Longes, Rad, Imp, and one non-Denner (but still sane individual) has almost entered its first year (and sadly only our second story arc), I figured better late than never. So let's get on with it! F...

The most amusing part is that the butters are still in denial. Especially the Chinese, who see this as the West 'chickening out' and leaving the pie to them. (Which just goes to show, regardless of nationality, all butters are buttheads.)

It allows them to use a Spirit/Prime implement on every spell they cast, which either saves on number of implements needed or gives you an excuse to stack the...

Basically, the only right choice is to be a Hermetic and rule the world. (Or try, at least, but you keep getting eaten by vampires.) I digress. K hit upon the only rational way to keep the Technocracy as the bad guys - they are the conspiracy, and they don't wanna give us electric light and public p...
