So in a age where even fucking black holes of game design such as MMO's are starting to realize that having dedicated passive heal bitch classes are a horrible design concept., and even 4E *tried* make the role more interesting than just a "Cure X Wounds' dispenser... Mearls thinks maybe we rea...

But Everquest was a horrible game compared the Ultima Online.

It might be nice if for some godforsaken reason you wanted to have the sorcerer do the magic item crafting for the party and couldn't just have a wizard instead. But really you just give up way too many class features (always assuming you picked one of the decent bloodlines in the first place) for i...

wasn't there a feat that lets you learn a spell from another class's spell list as long as it was the same type of magic as you use, and it was two or so spell levels lower than what you could cast? Or was that a psionics only feat.

I wonder when they'll get tired of pumping out caster splat books and finally release their own Book of Weeaboo Fightan Magic knock-off... and how badly they'll make those classes suck. 'Course that would require that they actually admit that the PF fighter and Monk are still worthless... which is u...

Being a 3.5 Conjuration Specialist with banned access to Abjuration and Evocation is pretty awesome. As a Pathfinder Conjuration Specialist, you: Can still set up Contingencies even though you banned Evocation. It's not like it made that much of a difference in the long run, a 3.5 Conjuration Speci...

the Wyrm is just misunderstood, and the Weaver is the real villain. It wasn't that out of left field. There had been several books early on that said the Wyrm used to be a mostly neutral force of entropy that broke things down so they could be remade into something new. But then the Weaver got piss...

Sorry, I should have been more specific. It's not the art, which is just merely bad and radiates 'Now that the Hobbit is a big deal again, we're gone back to making Halflings look as much like them as possible without getting sued' It's the stuff about making 'child-like innocence' an important part...

So, for a very short answered question: What are the PrCs in Pathfinder that are actually worth taking? Basically any prc that was already worth taking in 3.5 that was transferred over almost whole cloth to Pathfinder and had a few fiddly bits added to make it look like an improvement. Any PrC sinc...

Re: New Game: Star Wars Edge of the Empire

It does a good job of psychologically preparing people for a no-to-low jedi game that the book tells you it is trying to create. But it's fucking Star Wars ! It's a setting that has exactly two things going for it. 1) Awesome space combat that ignores all laws of physics for the sake of having The ...

So when they say "style of the Infinity Engine games" do they mean that in a vague style sense, or in the Mega Man 9 sense where they''ll deliberately ignore every bloody improvement made to the genre over the last 20 odd years for the sake of wanking off to nostalgia? I'm sorry, but as it...

Unless your loud, bossy friend has some specific Fudge-based system in mind, he's essentially demanding that you homebrew up a system designed to his specifications. That is effectively exactly what they're after as they've been working on a rpg book of their own (mostly just setting and fluff at t...

I just Fudge'd your mama last night.

So my group is changing systems and unfortunately the loudest and most bossy of the group is really pushing for Fudge, so I'm pretty much stuck learning and running the game at least once to shut them up. What am I in for? From my quick glance at the giant, repetitious rulebook it seems to combine b...
