Re: Arguing about Pokemon Tabletop Evolution (WIP)
I think this is a real question about a different game, Pokemon Tabletop Adventures 3, and y'all are just being mean. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/560075794068799499/1088250497728790588/image.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/560075794068799499/1088250928441872394/image.png I don'...

Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
Yeah. I'd never really looked too hard at the D&D minis in the last decade or so, but honestly they're not bad for how they're priced. I also grabbed an umber hulk for $8.75 and a pair of mind flayers for $4.75. The primer they come pre-sprayed with is shit though, so I had to clean them off bef...

Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
Picked up a cheap wizkids mini recently and decided to try painting using object source lighting for the first time. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/725592558834810952/1079246079859638303/20230225_211732.jpg Not bad for $8, y'all will probably recognize him from the classic hit "The Play...

You can think it's stupid, but if you read the title it's literally on topic.Neo Phonelobster Prime wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 3:29 amPretty much none of that post is relevant to topic.

Re: What's your favorite kind of high level "friendly" NPC?
I've been observing this thread with some amount of amusement because I've been playing in a recurring game where a majority of the important and friendly NPCs are in fact much higher level than the party and we've been enjoying it, a game of Fiends and Fortresses that Kaelik is running (and both I ...

Re: Why are Tome Feats a problem?
I think that if the concept were revisited there's some things you could do to mitigate problems if you wanted to start over and still have Tome style scaling feats: * Tag the feats, you can only have one feat with a given tag (so you cant, for example, have two [Archery] feats). * Really go hard on...

Not quite my normal quality, but I was painting on a time constraint. Did another Elric, this time from Satyr Art Studios. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/826615549059792906/1030627814346596392/20221014_184146.jpg https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/826615549059792906/1030627815097389096/2...

I've painted very little since I last posted, exactly two guys. Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
Nice, I like the rust and tarnishing of the metal. Thanks, the rust and tarnishing is actually really fun and easy to do as long as you have the right paints, it's part of why I'm enjoying these skeletons so much. The effort to result ratio on these guys is honestly really good. Wow those look bett...

Painted a couple '86 Ral Partha skeletons to go with the big guy. Can't embed videos but I did a little turntable vid of them in addition to the photos: Video https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/364557127026606085/975512892726194246/20220515_163941.jpg https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/36455...

Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
Well, he's supposed to be holding either a club or sword, which he does come packed with, but the rude gesture is a lot funnier so I left it out.

Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
Yep, sculpted in 1986 and still being made and sold! It's frankly amazingly detailed considering how old the sculpt is, it's leagues better looking than even a lot of modern minis.

Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
I like some of the bones minis in that, but I dont need that much unpainted plastic when I've got so much staring at me already.
And yes, you should absolutely paint some of them Bones.

Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
After a bit of a funk, started actually painting again, this time something in epic's 6mm scale. Still WIP obviously. It took me a while to find a scheme I liked for the dead nids. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/374775647312019456/945218451721568306/IMG_20220221_012006.png https://cdn.discor...

Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
It's partly both. The detail is there in the print, it's been painted a flat color and 'washed' with a darker shade that ends up in the crevices and brings out details. So the detail is there, but has been accentuated.

Re: Painting Small and Expensive Plastic People
To be honest it's so easy to do compared to how good it looks that I'm probably going to find excuses to do more of this.
