Re: Setting: Temples, Sites, Ruins, and Empires

I dunno, I kinda like the idea that ley line drift doesn't have to correspond to continental drift, with magic towers and mountians of doom wandering the countryside.

and maybe an obscure tower that gets this giant flash of power for a week once every century and is barely detectable the rest of the time.

Ah, more things for the Aboliths to know about that we don't. Which isn't always a bad thing, mind you.

Re: What would be reasonable effects for a heavy atmosphere?

Why would you feel fatigued for the first hour? You're getting more oxygen than normal. There's a reason why hard-core athletes train at higher altitude than they plan on competing at. You get used to breathing thin stuff, and when you get thicker air, you get more oxygen, which energizes you. (well...

For motorcycles being around, that actually kinda makes sense, somewhat. Poking around the internet, I see that motorcycles tend to run around 60 miles per gallon, but a small car seems peak out at around 40. If you have limited fuel supplies, and little need to transport goods, but a great need to ...

Re: Interesting reads about MMORPGs

Arguably, red cars get more traffic tickets because they are more visible, or, perhaps in some cases, the cop merely wants to get a better look at your sweet ride and, well, have you ever had a cop pull you over for one thing (which turned out to be okay) and then search and search until they found ...

And what's the real difference between a friend in real life and a friend online? Your friends in real life probably have less in common with you than your friends online, except for geographic location. Only because it's potential blackmail material. If your other already knows about it, it's not really a security risk. Just be sure to tell the PI up front, and I doubt it would be an issue.

The damage output will pretty much take care of itself, if you just give the rogues the ability to sneak attack.[br][br]This can mean Glitterdust (if you are blind, everyone else is effectively invisible, and invisible rogues get sneak attack), Grease (flatfooted anybody?), or even summons (flankers...

I have absolutely no idea who that person is. A google search tells me about a pakistani leader who was executed in 1979, and wikipedia only talks about a wealthy indian family that was granted lands by the british government. Call me a heathen, but who is this Bhutto?

Re: The Golden Compass movie -sucked- (spoilers inside)

I'm not surprised. I've seen plenty of books turned movies where they butchered things for no apparent reasons, including doing the exact opposite of the what the book flat out said. For example, in Bicentenial Man, in the book, he explicitly stated he didn't want a wang for sex, he wanted it to be ...
