I don't know who Jim Lee is and what's more I'm not sure why my comparison of JMS to Mike Mearls doesn't hold when the name is brought up. Because JMS is literally retroactively harmful, whereas Mearls is only harmful going forward; because putting D&D temporarily under the weather, in a way th...

So what you are saying is that Mearls is actually more like Jim Lee, and not J. Michael Stracsynski?

I guess I must have missed the 3e sourcebook Mearls wrote, where he poisoned the whole edition and retroactively turned everyone's old D&D campaigns to ashes.

You're forgetting, this is Minister James "Book of Exalted Deeds" Wyatt we're talking about here; putting him on fluff might be better than putting him on crunch, but it's still a disaster waiting to happen.

Re: Micromanagement games that let you be a huge jackass.

I want to crush the will of the populace, extract every useful ounce from my populace and send them to the glue factory, make the dead weep for the living, basically create a hell on earth. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Heroes of Might and Magic. Just make a custom map with lots of Peasant Hov...

Well I have to hand it to Krusk, he's pretty perceptive for a DMF. Most of them never seem to realize the deck is stacked against them.

How about now? I still doubt it. Historically, no one in western-europe has managed to give a single fuck about dead eastern-europeans; look at the whole gas-line debacle. Plus, they still have the get-out-of-jail-free-card of just blaming everything on the russians and having everyone believe it, ...

I'll throw in the Hullathoin (fiend folio) for level 20 rebuking and free vampires and energy draining swarms. Not that I imagine it'll be useful on the positive material plane, but it never hurts to be prepared.

I'm going to assume that in any given case, they do the worse of the two options That's usually a safe bet. It's certainly not the most pitiful let alone worst D&D book; even just in 3rd Edition. I mean, that would have to be the Dragonlance Campaign Setting or Monsters of Faerun. But for 3.5E? I think that it takes the cake. Whoah, whoah, that's not how you spell Dragons of Eberron and the Psionics ...

FWIW, I think the 3e Dark Sun humans (from Dragon #sometingsomething) were +2 Con, +2 Int.

Well, that, and the feat; which I guess did kind of make them the Master Race (but, y'know, Dragon Magazine).
